Judicial report: Weather: Overcast GONE TROPPO (BJ Jordan) was weighed and then re weighed to confirm a 1.6kg overweight from his previous race start. Trainer BJ Jordon incurs a $100.00 fine under Rule 269.3.
TIGHNABRUICH (OK Marron) The Trainer is to present the veterinary certificate supporting the scratching of the above greyhound from this race meeting to the officiating Stipendiary Steward at the Wanganui GRC meeting on 20 August 2004. Race record papers have been endorsed for 10 day stand down up to and including 26 August 2004.
FRYER'S FLYER (AJ Fryer) scratched on 16 August 2004 from this race meeting due to kennel cough. The trainer has been contacted and advised that if a 30 day stand down is to be avoided, a supporting veterinary certificate is required to be presented no later than 2:30pm on Thursday 19 August 2004, together with the race record papers for endorsement. The Trainer had advised that he will accept a 30 days stand down and not provide a veterinary certificate. The race record card will be presented to the Stipendiary Steward at Wanganui on 20 August 2004. The 30 days stand down will be up to and including 14 September 2004 under Rule 259.3.
WHEELCHAIR JIM (AM ELERS) the Trainer was fined $20.00 under Rule 135.1 for not providing a catcher for the above greyhound at the conclusion of Race 3.

Race 1	GONE TROPPO HURDLES - C1h - 505	ARANUI TUI twisted and landed awkwardly at the first hurdle and was always at the rear after. KOTUKU ARANUI lost balance after jumping the first hurdle and recovered well to win. ARANUI TUI underwent a veterinary inspection following the race which detected bruising to the proximal radius on both sides. ARANUI TUI (MN Boyd) Rule 329 as a result of a post race veterinary inspection it was detected that this greyhound had suffered bruising to the proximal radius on both sides and was stood down for 7 days up to and including 23 August 2004.
Race 2	GOZO LINA SYNDICATE - C0 - 297	MONDE CAMPIONE was scratched ex Wanganui GRC on 15 August 2004. SHEILA FIAHERTY was scratched due to kennel cough. TURBO MCCOOKIE was a late scratching due to an infected sore on the left hind leg. GAZZA'S JEWEL lost 3 lengths after the start then made ground along the rails, held up and finished well for third. MERRY SABRE was pushed wide by HOMEBUSH CHRIS after 30m. PETRIFIED was forced wide on the home turn when KIM'S FLAME came off the rail quickly. MONDE CANPIONE (I Wate) Wanganui GRC 15 August 2004. TURBO MCCOOKIE (JA McCook) Rule 259 has an infected sore on lateral aspect of left hind leg and stood down for 7 days up to and including 23 August 2004. SHEILA FLAHERTY (AJ Cobain) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 10 days up to and including 25 August 2004.
Race 3	PURINA PERFORMANCE - C0 - 505	HELLO SAILOR was checked when contacting the heels of JUSTA SILVERSTAR. HELLO SAILOR ran very wide on the bend, checking HOMEBUSH EDWARD.
Race 4	BOND AND BOND - C0 - 297	AGGIE'S STASH was scratched due to probable kennel cough. SUPER CORA carried DURAN PHOENIX wide on the home turn, with the latter recovering well to finish fourth. AGGIES STASH (BC Rangiuia) Rule 259.3 has probable kennel cough and stood down for 30 days up to and including 14 September 2004.
Race 5	OUTBACK TRADING - C1 - 297	WINSOME LEEDS was a late scratching due to a toe injury on the right front paw. KNIGHT TROOPER was tightened between LORD CAUCI and WEE AMY LEIGH on the first bend, but recovered well to finish fifth. WINSOME LEEDS (SM Hood) Rule 259 has injury to toe on right front paw and stood down for 28 days up to and including 13 September 2004
Race 6	ALBION TAVERN - C1 - 297	OH SO LYRICAL forced TRAVELLIN' JACK very wide on the bend.
Race 7	SANTA LUCIA MEMORIAL CUP - HEAT 1 - C1q - 505 Heat 1	ROSIES DAUGHTER was scratched due to kennel cough. HOMEBUSH KERRY was checked when RONGOTEA REBEL moved off the rail to take up a wide position. ROSIE'S DAUGHTER (AT Hall) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 10 days up to and including 25 August 2004.
Race 8	SANTA LUCIA MEMORIAL CUP - HEAT 2 - C1q - 505 Heat 1	GONE TROPPO was a scratching due to being 1.6kg overweight from his previous race start. JUBILANT MISS was slow out then raced up and tightened between SOLO CRUISE and RUBY HALL. A further check to this runner by RUBY HALL running out extinguished its chances and finished fifth. CHADLINGTON was slow out and always at the rear.
Race 9	SANTA LUCIA MEMORIAL CUP - HEAT 3 - C1q - 505 Heat 1	INAHA HINE was scratched due to kennel cough. MINTIE MOMENT was severely checked when cut off by FRIENDLY PRINCE then ran wide colliding with FRAU DAGMA. MINTIE MOMENT recovered well and ran on strongly to finish third. INAHA HINE (AJ Cobain) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 10 days up to and including 25 August 2004.
Race 10	AWAPUNI HOTEL - C1 - 297	TIMTAGEL STAR was scratched due to kennel cough. KURI WERA was a late scratching due to a muscle tear. SECRET PRINCE was scratched due to bruising to neck. FRYER'S FLYER was scratched due to kennel cough. HOMEBUSH FLIPPER was slow to begin then denied racing room in the back straight and was checked, in turn forcing CECILIA BRYAN to run wide. TIMTAGEL STAR (S Drysdale) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 10 days up to and including 25 August 2004. KURI WERA (S Gardner) Rule 259 has tear in caudal right deltoideus muscle and stood down for 14 days up to and including 30 August 2004. FRYER'S FLYER (AJ Fryer) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 30 days up to and including 14 September 2004. SECRET PRINCE (A Duganzich) Rule 259 has bruising to neck and stood down for 7 days up to and including 23 August 2004.
Race 11	GERRANDS GEMTIME JEWELLERS - HAWERA - C3/4 - 505	TIGHNABRUICH was scratched due to kennel cough. ASTRO NERONE and PROSPIRENE jostled when ASTRO NEARNE was trying to move off the rail in the back straight. SEASPRAY BEST clipped the heels of KEEN PRESISOION on the first bend and then raced wide after to finish fifth. TIGHNABRUICH (OK Marron) Rule 259 has kennel cough and stood down for 10 days up to and including 26 August 2004. SEASPRAY BEST (AJ Cobain) Rule 329. As a result of a post race veterinary inspection it was detected that this greyhound had suffered a laceration on the left hind leg and was stood down for 7 days up to and including 23 August 2004.
Race 12	COURTESY FORD - C2 - 297	SARKAMORE was tightened on the first bend and drifted to finish last. HOMEBUSH SNIPPET ran very wide on the home turn, but ran on strongly for third. HOMEBUSH SNIPPET and RALPH jostled for position in the back straight.
Race 13	WENHAM GRAIN & SEED - C3 - 297	SEASPRAY PADERO ws slow to begin, then wide, fading out to finish last. WAIWERATAI was tightened between PHAEDRA and IRINKA MAXINE in the back straight with WAIWERATAI recovering well to finish third.
Race 14	SUPERIOR KIBBLE - C1/2 - 505	LISSADELL PRINCE was slow to begin and never improved, finishing last.
