Judicial report: Weather: Raining overcast day. An inquiry under Rule 135.10 against Owner/Trainer JR Goode was opened and adjourned as he had left the course, and pending further inquiries.

Race 1 | TRACKSIDE DINING (PH 03-338-6145) STAKES - C0 - 520 | TOKEN KIWI drifted to last on jumping from the boxes, running on for fourth. Into the first bend WHATA YA KNOW was tightened by RED PAREORA losing momentum. RED PAREORA ran on for a close second, with WHATA YA KNOW finishing mid field. |
Race 2 | SHIRLEY SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the first bend MULBERRY ROLL and SMART HAVOC came together when racing at the rear of the field. They never recovered finishing amongst the tailenders. |
Race 3 | PARKLANDS SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the first bend HOMEBUSH BLAZE, CURRENT POWER and GREEN MILE were checked as a result of tightening by dogs on their outer, coming back on WEAR THE FERN, with MULBERRY BEAN running wide to avoid the skirmish. These dogs never recovered, finishing well behind the dividend bearers. |
Race 4 | TRI NATIONS STAKES - C1 - 520 | Into the first bend LIFE'S A GAS eased when tightened by LOCHINVAR FIRE, on his outer. Soon after this incident RED HOT MINI checked out off the hind quarters of WINSOME FEVER, colliding with MCKENZIE LEIGH and the favourite ASTRA NOMACOOL on her outer. All three dogs lost momentum with ASTRA NOMACOOL finishing strongly for second, MCKENZIE LEIGH fourth and RED HOT MINI finishing amongst the tail enders. As a result of this skirmish LOCHINVAR FIRE was able to rail inside these dogs, driving to the lead at the end of the back straight to win well. |
Race 5 | ADDINGTON RACEWAY SPRINT - C0 - 295 | THIRTY A WEEK lost her footing on jumping from the boxes, however recovered quickly to lead out with ANGEL EYES, who took the lead into the first bend to run on and win well from THIRTY A WEEK. Into the first bend LIGNUM VITAE, BALMAR BLUE, HOMEBUSH DASHER and RAIN OF SPADES lost all chance as a result of general tightening, filling the last four places. WHATA YA THINK (BC Dann) capped elbow. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 14 August 2004. |
Race 6 | ROBBIE BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C0 - 520 | HOMEBUSH SUMMER and CHOSEN FELLA drifted to last after the jump, never improving during the running finishing at the rear. |
Race 7 | AUGUST SPRINT - C1 - 295 | FATAL OBSESSION was slow to jump from the inside box, settling last never improving during the running. HOMEBUSH LUMP drove to the soon after the jump, leading all the way to win well. |
Race 8 | HAREWOOD SPRINT - C0 - 295 | SEASPRAY FOLLY dwelt slightly when jumping from the inside box, however recovered well running outwards in the approach to the first corner, buffeting dogs on his outer before running away to win the event easily. LOUIE MCDODD who drifted to last soon after the jump, finished fairly in the home straight for fourth. |
Race 9 | CONTAINER DIRECT INTERTRADE STAKES - C1 - 520 | SHADY'S MATE ran outwards in the home straight, colliding with POWERFAST PATCH on his outer, these dogs finishing second and third respectively. |
Race 10 | BOWL AND JACK TAVERN SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the first bend the favourite IVORY DELUXE was tightened by MELTING POT as he drove down to the rail from his outside draw, running away to win the event easily. IVORY DELUXE lost momentum, coming back on a trailing BRIGHT ECHO who also lost ground. Soon after this incident JUMP START and HOMEBUSH DIESEL tangled when racing wide on the track, these dogs finishing at the rear with BRIGHT ECHO. |
Race 11 | COFFEE CLUB ON HALSWELL SPRINT - C1 - 295 | HOMEBUSH BOY and CONSENT were very slow to jump from the boxes, finishing mid field. Soon after the jump the favourite TOE BONE ran outwards, colliding with UP A NOTCH and RUFF STUFF on his outer. RUFF STUFF recovered well finishing fourth, with UP A NOTCH finishing near the rear and TOE BONE finishing some distance behind the field. He was checked by the Club Veterinarian who found a left gracilus tear, recommending a 14 day stand down. TOE BONE (BC Dann) Rule 329. 14 days up to and including 19 August 2004. |
Race 12 | DAVID EMERSON CONSULTANCY STAKES - C1 - 520 | Into the first bend TOP BRASS moved outwards from the rail as ZINGER'S REVENGE moved sharply towards the rail, resulting in AQUA COSTI and DOLLY POACHER being tightened, AQUA COSTI falling with DOLLY POACHER going over the top and falling also. They recovered finishing some considerable distance behind the field, before being checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected no injuries with either dog. |
