KURI WERA was the slowest away after an awkward beginning and she was then checked when avoiding the fallen SHEILA FLAHERTY and finished 2nd to last. |

MANAWA NUI and VAL'S FELLA collided soon after the start and settled well back. One of the favourites KIWI MANA was also a little slow away and was checked on the first corner and raced around the first bend in last place. | Race 3 | WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES DASH - C1 - 305 | MISS NEMINBO was away well from the start but was galloped on by WAIMARIE soon after and they dropped quickly back to the rear. WAIMARIE recovered well to finish 4th but MISS NEMINBO stayed back at the rear throughout. The favourite ALI PHOENIX was on the heels of other runners on the first corner, switched out wide to go around but only battled in the straight. HOMEBUSH LUCKY was also checked on the first corner when getting on the heels of runners ahead. |
| Race 4 | EXCEED DISTANCE FEATURE - C1d - 645 | INAHA HINE was tightened in the race to the first bend and dropped back to last and stayed well back. The favourite TOKENISM led in the early and middle stages but tired and faded in the straight and only just held 3rd place at the finish. |

| Race 6 | ASR SPRAYPAINTING SPRINT - C2 - 305 | LADY PRITI, LADY MALONE and BLUE COUNTY came together on the first corner and jostled for a few strides until LADY MALONE and BLUE COUNTY were severely checked and they lost several lengths. Soon after, LADY PRITI was also badly checked when tightened by BRAVE GYPSY and she also lost several lengths and all chance. |

HOT DISCOVERY recovered to finish quickly for a close up 4th place. THRILLING CODY and RALPH collided on the bend and lost ground. CATERING QUEEN then ran wide to avoid RALPH and they filled the last three places. |
