Judicial report: Weather: Overcast and warm An enquiry under Rule 377.2 in respect of owner/trainer JH Cleary and KIWI NIKO was opened and adjourned pending further enquries.
The adjourned hearing against owner/trainer JR Goode under Rule 294.2 was reconvened with the Judicial Steward finding the charge proven. After hearing submissions as to penalty Goode was fined $250.00 and disqualified for a period of two months. ----------

Race 1 PEDIGREE ADVANCE SPRINT - C2 - 295 Into the first bend HOMEBUSH LEGEND clipped the hindquarters of the leader and eventual winner KIWI NIKO, coming back on LAKOTA GOLD both dogs losing all chance and filling the last two places.
Race 2 GEORGE CALVERT CLEANING STAKES - C1 - 520 ENTHRALL drifted to last soon after the jump never improving during the running.----------
Race 3 CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C2 - 520 After an even dispatch YORKED AGAIN drove to the lead, leading until part way down the home straight before the favourite CHOPPERS HAND railed up to win by a length. ---------- MUSCOVY (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 18 July 2004.----------
Race 4 FLAIR (S.I) SPRINT - C3 - 295 This event started one minute after the advertised start time due to a delay in the previous harness event. HERE GOES drifted to last soon after the jump finishing seventh. TOKEN TALK ran wide the bend and into the home straight before finishing strongly for fourth. ROTKARA BOMBER (MM Grant) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 18 July 2004.----------
Race 5 WILSONS SPORTS BAR STAKES - C2 - 520 BAGHDAD TOKEN was slow to jump settling at the rear, finishing on for fifth. The favourite SLY PARK settled midfield on the rail, improving across the top to rail up in the home straight to win easily.----------
Race 6 BILLS BAR & BISTRO SPRINT - C3/4 - 295 Into the first bend HIGH FEVER was tightened between dogs coming back on NOVEMBER BEAR and SEASPRAY BEST. Into the home straight an improving NOVEMBER BEAR came in contact with HOMEBUSH STEVE both dogs momentum being checked. They never recovered finishing at the rear of the field along with HIGH FEVER and SEASPRAY BEST.----------
Race 7 WATERLOO CUP HEAT - C5q - 520 Heat 1 WHISKEY PETE hit the rail soon after jumping from the boxes, drifting out to finish near the rear. Into the first bend the favourite FASHION THIEF struck the hindquarters of HOMEBUSH BILL who drifted out during the event to finish last with FASHION THIEF putting in an ordinary performance to finish sixth. All three dogs were checked by the club veterinarian who detected nothing amiss.
Race 8 SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C3 - 520 TOKEN CHARM was slow to jump from the outside box and ran wide around the first bend to drive to the lead down the back to run away and win very easily. Into the first bend TULONGA LOAFER eased as a result of general tightening settling well back, running on well over the concluding stages for third. Soon after this incident the favourite HARVARD CHIEF moved off the rail coming in contact with SATIN GRIP who in turn struck the hindquarters of BACK EAR JACK, all three dogs losing momentum and tangling with a trailing HOMEBUSH FIN. All four never recovered finishing at the rear.----------
Race 9 ABRAHAMS SPORTS BAR STAKES - C4 - 520 MILKI LABRI was tightened by dogs on his outer entering the first corner coming back on DR ABERNATHY who ran wide to avoid the skirmish, running wide thereafter. Both dogs ran on to finish fifth and sixth respectively.---------- THRILLING FLOYD (JT McInerney) right hind gastroc tendon sprain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 28 days up to and including 9 August 2004.----------
Race 10 BOWL AND JACK SPRINT - C5 - 295 HOMEBUSH KAYCEE flew the boxes before being passed by the eventual winner GILBERT BALE into the first bend. The favourite SPOTTED HAND settled third however into the first bend ran outwards tangling with MILANION and AWESOME PAUL on his outer and coming back on a trailing HOMEBUSH WILLY. SPOTTED HAND ran on well for third with the other dogs finishing at the rear.----------
