Judicial report: Weather: Fine A hearing was convened before the Judicial Chairman, for a breach of Rule 172 brought against the trainer G Calverley on the 2 July 2004. A plea of guilty was entered and the Chairman imposed a fine of $40.00.
An Enquiry opened on the 2 July 2004 to determine the circumstance of the withdrawal of the greyhound Astro Doll (NP Green) from a race that day was closed with an acceptance that a valid reason was held.

Race 1 COCA-COLA HURDLES - C1/2h - 527 Hurdles. Aranuijazz and Chippewa Brave both fell during running but regained their footing and completed the race. A veterinary check post race cleared both fallen dogs of injury. Prince Zidane was subject to a stand down when found to have been injured during the running. No 8 Prince Zidane (NM Boyd). Rule 329 - lacerated and bruised shoulder. Stand down 7 days to 17.07.04. VC held.
Race 2 CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C0 - 527 Bit Of Grit and Bet She Can were jostled and buffeted after the jump when they sought to cross closer to the track inner and came into contact with Amusement, that dog holding her line determinedly in the track centre. Both Bit Of Grit and Bet She Can conceded ground - Bet She Can did recover ground steadily during the race but did not place. Tiki Tour was also impeded in the initial stages.
Race 3 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C0 - 318 Classic Tyler raced prominently in the early stages then was squeezed between Kimster and Iron Woman as the field ran around the bend - Classic Tyler dropped back, checking Kimster and putting that dog out of contention.
Race 4 ROYAL WOLF CONTAINERS DASH - C0 - 318 Shes Home Soon sprinted away for the lead and carried it to the line. Kath ran on late for second. Great Blue was badly squeezed for room and checked back to the rear in the early running - dropping back to the rear where he caused Finn to flare wide to avoid contact. No 6 Westar Gold (M Earley). Under stand down from W & D GRC meeting.
Race 5 BELLBIRD ARMS STAKES - C1 - 527 Entering the bend Overload veered wide, impacting with Philip Bale and pushing that dog wide. Puni Fire was also impeded and together with Overload and Philip Bale became the final dogs to finish - a distance away.
Race 6 TINT-A-CAR STAKES - C1 - 527 Race clear. No 1 Funny Feeling G Darby. Withdrawn with valid reason. No 3 Just Hasty (S Blackburn). Rule 259 - muscular strain in groin. Stand down 30 days to 08.08.04.
Race 7 JIMBO'S PETFOOD DASH - C1 - 318 Farmer John was particularly affected in his forward progress following the jump when Hello Darling on his outer and Lady Dolly on his inner converged sharply. May Well Be bolted from the jump and held off a strong finish from Hello Darling, those two dogs leaving a gap to the rest of the field. No 1 Cardinia Kev (SC Mann). Rule 259 - acidosis. Stand down 14 days to 21.07.04. VC held.
Race 8 RADIO PACIFIC DASH - C2 - 318 Storm Edition was slow to start. The first reserve, Poetical, set a strong early pace and held until gathered in by Go Tyler Go. No 5 Raheny Reason (K Walsh). Rule 259 - triceps soreness from W & D meeting on 08.07.04. Stand down 7 days to 16.07.04. VC held. ----------
Race 9 FRIDAY FLASH STAKES - C2 - 527 Marluke was the first to show and held on for a decisive win.
Race 10 COFFEE NEWS STAKES - C3 - 527 Mr Paterson carried an early lead whilst rounding the bend - but was pushed off his line when checked by Bingo Appeal on his inner. Romberg Reason maintained a sustained run down the back straight and took control from Mr Paterson in the run home. No 8 Stylish Zoe (M Earley). Rule 259 - neck laceration. Stand down 10 days to 17.07.04. VC held.
