Race 1 MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375 Waingaro Lassie finished on late along track inner to finish third.
Race 2 IMPROVERS SPRINT HEAT 1 - C1q - 375 Heat 1 Real Silence, the second reserve from box 8, took a clear lead middle of bend and kicked away strongly for win. Real Life went past a tiring Mr Big Head to take second placing. Sharp Strike broke down in early running and was euthanised post race. No 1 Eiffel Ami (G Calverley). Greyhound now deceased. No 8 Hypoumanga (K Walsh). Rule 259 right hind lower leg injury. Stand down 14 days to 07.0-7.04. Dog presented. VC held. (No 5 Sharp Strike - greyhound enthanised following severe hock injury. )
Race 3 DINSDALE DASH - C1/2 - 375 Raheny Reason was checked in the early running whilst racing towards the back of the field - entering the straight he finished resolutely along track inner to feature in a dead heat for the win - with a four dog spread across the track. No 8 Sambuca Pete (FD Farmer). Rule 259 - acute diarrhoea. Stand down 10 days to 03.07.04. VC held.
Race 4 MATANGI MAIDEN - C0 - 457 Overload established a narrow early break and held with a sustained run to the line. The favourite, Tartare Sauce was slow away, then checked in the middle stages when coming off the back of Pitter Patter, but did run on well when clear for second.
Race 5 IMPROVERS SPRINT HEAT 2 - C1q - 375 Heat 1 Race clear. .
Race 6 RAGLAN STAKES - C1 - 457 Oxey and Dark Sensation were in sharp contact after the jump then came together again further down the track. Hostile Arch just prevailed in a close finish after setting the pace to the line.
Race 7 IMPROVERS SPRINT HEAT 3 - C1q - 375 Heat 1 Longest Drive, a favoured runner showed early speed but drifted on entering the straight and did not place.
Race 8 WAIKATO DISTANCE - C1/2d - 747 Skipper Rip, after settling midfield commenced a forward move in the run down the back straight then stepped up a gear- ran to front and at the line was drawing away - in a track record time. No 3 Gold Jed (D Van Meeuwen). Under stand down from AGRC meeting.
Race 9 TAMAHERE SPRINT - C3/4 - 375 Le Mans Song raced across the face of the field from the outside box after the jump to take the lead, looked likely to hold all the way until gathered in late by Winsome Mate. No 5 Musicial Drama (B & L Craik). Rule 259 - stand down 10 days to 03.07.04. VC issued.
Race 10 WWW.DOGTIPS.NET.NZ STAKES - C3/4 - 457 Bingo Appeal chose to veer wide down the straight when leading, giving the fast finishing Dr Bertram the opportunity to take the track inner and get to the line first. No 4 Stock Broker (FD Farmer). Rule 259 - acute diarrhoea. Stand down 10 days to 03.07.04. VC held.
