Judicial report: Weather: overcast and cool evening. An inquiry under Rule 377 in respect of HERE'S FREDDIE now trained by Owner AH LEE, was opened and adjourned pending further inquiries.
An inquiry under Rule 377 in respect of KING LOUIS now owned and trained by AD Williams, was opened and adjourned pending further inquiries.

Race 1 | PEDIGREE ADVANCE SPRINT - C2 - 295 | The favourite HOMEBUSH FRANK and FEARLESS MAGOO came together soon after jumping from the boxes, settling well back. Into the first corner CYPRESS LAKES sustained a check when vying for the lead, drifting back thtrough the field, forcing an improving HOMEBUSH FRANK to run wide. They never recovered, finishing at the rear. TAR SEAL (JV Busch) was a late scratching at kennelling when found to have a toe nail missing. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 7 July 2004. |
Race 2 | TEMPS BAR SPRINT - C2 - 295 | WHATA TEX and OZARK'S GUMBOOT came together when racing near the rear of the field, losing all chance never improving during the running. |
Race 3 | CANTERBURY DRAUGHT SIX PACK - C1 - 520 | JUDYANNE BALE and HOMEBUSH RED were slow to jump from the boxes, settling at the rear. Into the first corner the favourite ROSZEL BALE came in contact with the eventual winner SLY PARK, losing ground coming back on an improving JUDYANNE BALE. These dogs never recovered, finshing amongst the tail enders. |
Race 4 | HARDING CUP - C5 - 295 | GILBERT BALE ran outwards after jumping from the inside box, checking off the hindquarters of SPEED TWIN into the first corner, with checks to AWESOME PAUL, HOMEBUSH GEORGE and GRAND MOVER, these dogs losing all chance as a result. |
Race 5 | FLAIR (S.I) STAKES - C3 - 520 | TO LIVE BY was slow to jump from the boxes, settling last. Into the first corner HERE'S FREDDIE was tightened between dogs, checking out off the hindquarters of RAILROAD PAT and coming in contact with an improving TO LIVE BY, both dogs running wide on the track and losing all chance. They never recovered filling the last two places. Into the home straight SATIN GRIP moved outwards, laying on RAILROAD PAT down the straight, which enabled OZZIE RHODE to rail up to win the event. |
Race 6 | HORORATA HOTEL SPRINT - C3 - 295 | Into the first corner PETITE JEWEL was badly checked as a result of general tightening, with BACK HERE MACKA clipping the hindquarters of OLD MONARO and falling. PETITE JEWEL finished some considerable distance behind the field, with BACK HERE MACKA regaining his feet and finishing a further distance behind. BACK HERE MACKA was checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected no injury. The short priced favourite ETTINGER BALE settled mid field and was able to rail up under the skirmish into the first corner, running on for second some distance behind the winner MILANION who won easily. MARRICK MAID (M & J Jopson) hole in right fore webbing. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 7 days up to and including 28 June 2004. |
Race 7 | PUB CHARITY NATIONAL GOBIS FINAL - RESf - 520 | This race started at 8:12pm, 12 minutes after the advertised race start time, due to broken gear and a false start in the preceding harness race. The short priced favourite SHIRAZ ROYALE settled mid field and when endeavouring to improve at the end of the back straight, was unable to do so. Turning for home she switched wide, finishing strongly down the outer for third. Into the first corner TIGHNABRUICH was tightened by SUNSET COAST when racing near the rear of the field, both dogs losing ground, never improving during the running. |
Race 8 | ABRAHAMS SPORTS BAR STAKES - C2 - 520 | This race started at 8:37, 7 minutes after the advertised race start time. Into the first corner DR DUDLEY, SUPER GOLD, OLD DARK and KELLBRETT PRINCE were checked as a result of general tightening, settling well back and filling the last four places. At the end of the back straight AQUA GOOFY checked out off the hindquarters of SEPTEMBER STORM, losing momentum finishing fourth. SUPER GOLD faultered just after the winning post and was checked by the Club Veterinarian who found him to have sustained a broken left hock, recommending a stand down period of 30 days. Race 9 | GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND STAKES - C4 - 520 | The second favourite THRILLING FLOYD ran wide around the first corner, losing all chance finishing seventh. |
Race 10 | THE MILLER BAR STAKES - C2 - 520 | Into the first corner HARVARD CHIEF struck the hindquarters of DR NOAKES, both dogs coming back on a trailing RAZOR ROBERTSON. DR NOAKES finished strongly over the concluding stages for third, with the other two filling the last two places. TUKI AQUA (JT McInerney) was a late scratching at kennelling when found with right wrist pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 10 days up to and including 3 July 2004. |
Race 11 | COALGATE TAVERN SPRINT - C4 - 295 | HOMEBUSH LEO drifted to last soon after jumping, however when improving into the first corner there was general tightening, resulting in HOMEBUSH MICK, DR COSMO, HOMEBUSH LEO and HOMEBUSH KAYCEE sustaining checks losing all chance. They never recovered from this incident, finishing some distance behind the place getters. |
