Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 CAROL'S TAB MAIDEN SPRINT FINAL - C0f - 318 Miss Tibet showed early speed, holding in front with Don Paulie settled behind her. Entering the straight Don Paulie quickly siezed the rails opportunity which opened up and held in a close decision at the line. Hostile Arch dwelt slightly at the start, moved to midfield - then was in contact with Dissipate on his inner, moved out only to shoulder into Sally's Delight and be forced wide where he was a victim yet again when galloped on by Overload. Hostile Arch skewed around and all but fell - was out of the race but did finish.
Race 2 JIMBO'S PETFOOD STAKES - C1 - 527 Twilight Lane a late scratching. Race clear.
Race 3 RADIO PACIFIC DISTANCE SIX PACK - C1/2d - 603 Lindale Express flared wide at top of back straight and remained towards the rear throughout.
Race 4 STREETS ICE CREAM DASH - C2 - 318 Faithful Habit ran swiftly to the front but was gathered in by Tempest Reign working along the rail as the field rounded the bend - Tempest Reign then stormed away to the line for a clear cut win.
Race 5 CROWN CONSTRUCTION C1 FINAL - C1f - 527 Campese Bale and Bronnie Bolta ran shoulder to shoulder for several strides after the jump - Bronnie Bolta moved through to midfield and ran on late for third placing. No 4 Raise Your Glass (B & L Craik). Under stand down from 10.06.04. LATE SCRATCHING No 5 Twilight Lane (FD Farmer). Rule 259 - split web. Stand down 10 days to 26.06.04. Dog presented. VC held. .
Race 6 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C2 - 527 Rawhiti Rogue barged across from box 7 towards the rail immediately the field was despatched - causing an severe tightening of the inner dogs. As a consequence of this the favourite Skipper Rip was checked noticeably in the early running when Browning Bale moved off the rail - this left the favourite some 12 lengths in arrears of the leaders and although racing wide and then weaving through the field Skipper Rip could not pull back the lead of his kennelmate, Calm Abiding, that dog having displayed an impressive run in her dash to the line.
Race 7 FRIDAY FLASH SPRINT FEATURE - C3 - 318 Le Mans Song burst out to the front then dropped sharply back through the field - impeding dogs, particularly Johnny Tulloch as he did. Le Mans Song came home towards the rear. No 3 Kojazz (ID Moore). Rule 259. VC to be produced. Stand down to follow.
Race 8 COFFEE NEWS STAKES - C4/5 - 527 Whisky Pete was in contact with Winsome Dixie in the early stages - then later in running was checked against the rail by the same dog. Whisky Pete dropped to be a distant last, but did recover late to the back of the field.
Race 9 GOBIS NATIONAL FINAL #1 - RESf - 527 Flash Shooter kicked clear of the leaders entering the back straight - then kept up sustained run to take out the win - drawing away at the line from the favourite Mr Paterson, that dog having been forced to cover substantial extra ground. Sunsent Coast fell heavily at the top of the back straight, impeding Homebush Brian and causing that dog to be also out of contention as he almost fell taking evasive action.
Race 10 ROYAL WOLF CONTAINERS DASH - C3/4 - 318 Walton Bale was noticeably slow at start - but then moved steadily through the field and took a rails run when presented to place behind the winner, Thelma Bale. The rails run for Walton Bale came when High Pockets moved off the rail sharply and pushed Thelma Bale out towards Brooklyn Ash - both those dogs impeding the progress of Sue Van Gill, and putting paid to her chances.
