The 3rd dog FIELDS O'ATHENRY was checked by the winner I'VE GOT FLAIR in the home straight and this possibly cost it 2nd placing. |
| Race 12 | WAINUIOMATA VETERINARY CLINIC DASH - C2 - 295 | RUSTY ROVER was checked on the first corner and dropped back to near the rear. He recovered well to finish 4th. CHAPPELLI was away well and was handy into the first corner but eased back to last and stayed there. It was suspected that the dog was not persueing the lure but the vets inspection revealed that CHAPPELLI was suffering from some back muscle soreness and so the benefit of the doubt was given on this occasion.
