HOMEBUSH EDWARD was scratched due to ssuffering from diarrhoea. SORT OF BLUE was galloped on by LUCABELLA on the first corner and checked. LUCABELLA then ran out sharply and forced WHEELCHAIR JIM very wide on the bend. SORT OF BLUE was again checked on the second corner and lost any chance of a placing. TULLACREMIN. Trainer A.Cobain. Rule 269 (3). A late scratching due to being underweight. Trainer A.Cobain fined $ 100-00. HOMEBUSH EDWARD. Trainer P.Blanche. Rule 259. Suffering from gastroenteritis and stood down for 10 days to and including 17.06.04. |
Race 2 | AWAPUNI LIQUORLAND - C0 - 505 | DISCIPLINARIAN was a late scratching at kennelling time when found to be suffering from the early stages of gastroenteritis. CADMUS was slow away and was then checked on the first turn when attempting to improve. TWIST DEE CAPP dropped out early in the race and tailed the field home by several lengths. The vets inspection revealed that TWIST DEE CAPP was suffering from an eye infection and a 14 day stand down was ordered. The Trainer stated that the dog would not be persevered with as a racing proposition. DISCIPLINARIAN. Trainer O.Marron. Rule 259. A late scratching when found to be suffering from the early stages of a gastroenteritis attack. Stood down for 5 days to and including 13.06.04. TWIST DEE CAPP. Trainer A.Dugancich. Rule 329. Suffering from an eye infection and stood down for 14 days to and including 23.06.04. |
Race 3 | SUPERIOR KIBBLE - C4/5 - 297 | PACIFIC JAZZY, APRIL SERIES and IOMAN jostled together for several strides early in the race and settled well back. |
Race 4 | PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS - C1 - 505 | The favourite WANDERING EYES was checked on the first corner and dropped back causing checks to RAPID CROSS and TORAH BALE. WANDERING EYES then started to improve but was again checked when starting on the last bend and dropped out to finish in 2nd last place. |
Race 5 | OXFORD HOTEL - C2 - 505 | SILK RIPPLE led into the straight but then eased and was passed by GOZO LINA who went on to win. SILK RIPPLE then rallied again to hold onto 2nd place. SILK RIPPLE was charged under Rule 322 (1) (b) with failing to persue throughout and was stood down for one month and will be required to trial before her next totalisator start. IRINKA MARY was checked by GOZO LINA on the first bend, moved out sharply and cannoned into CRYPTIC who dropped back quickly. CRYPTIC was checked again soon after and finished at the rear. Race 6 | MANAWATU SECURITY SERVICES - C1 - 297 | SEXY BABE ran out from the start and crowded several other runners. She continued to move out and checked SHEEHAN back to last on the first corner. NITE HAWK LADY and REGINALO PERIN led into the first corner but then collided and checked each other back to last and never recovered. |
Race 7 | ALBION TAVERN - C1 - 505 | SHONI'S LIGHT was scratched due to an injury. The race was all clear. SHONI'S LIGHT. Trainer W.T.Hodgson. Rule 259. Suffering from a muscle injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 16.06.04. |
Race 8 | OXFORD HOTEL HURDLES - C1/2h - 505 | The first hurdle was knocked down and rested against the inside rail. It was removed by a Track marshall before the field arrived back and they passed without incident. |
Race 9 | ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C2 - 297 | ANTONIO was scratched Ex Wanganui on 06.06.04. PRINCESS ARAPHO broke down and ran very wide on the home turn, forcing WAIWERATAI very wide on the track. PRINCESS ARAPHO finished last and was soon after euthanased due to a fractured hind leg. ANTONIO. Trainer B & E Gough. Ex Wanganui on 06.06.04. PRINCESS ARAPHO. Trainer D & B Kettlewell. Rule 329. Race 10 | MANAWATU OAKS FINAL - R/Af - 505 | The hot favourite IDOL APPEAL began awkwardly but recovered to be handy in the early and middle stages. She only battled in the straight and finished well back. |
