Race 1 SUPERIOR KIBBLE - C0 - 297 TESHAMORE was scratched due to a tendon injury. SISTER STAMP was scratched and started in Race 10. SHEILA FLAHERTY was slow away and then dipped soon after the start. JUSTA SILVERSTAR and NATHAN BALE were checked and lost ground on the first corner. NATHAN BALE and IMA LITTLE ROWDY came together and jostled for a few strides on the final bend. TESHAMORE. Trainer I.Moore. Rule 259. Has a minor tricep injury, was presented and stood down for 14 days to and including 14.06.04. SISTER STAMP was scratched and started in Race 10.
Race 2 AUSSIE MEATS - C0 - 505 The favourite LADY PANTHERELLA began awkwardly and lost several lengths and any chance of a placing. INAHA HINE settled at the rear, ran wide on the first bend and tailed the field home by several lengths.
Race 3 BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C1 - 297 One of the favourites GINGER TYLER was checked soon after the start by runners drawn further out moving in. He dropped back to last and stayed well back.
Race 4 ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C1 - 297 RIKKILEE KIWI was a late scratching after failing to be presented for kennelling. The dog was stood down for 30 days under Rule 257 (1) and the Trainer J.M.Lowen was fined $ 100-00 under Rule 135 (1). HILLVIEW RIDGE was scratched due to a dew claw injury. REGINALO PERIN was difficult to load and then missed the start and settled in last place. His behaviour will be monitored in the next couple of starts. RIKKILEE KIWI. Trainer J.M.Lowen. Race 5 MANAWATU SECURITY SERVICES - C1 - 505 JOHNNY RAY was checked on the first bend and suffered a slight leg muscle injury and was stood down for 7 days. Race 7 PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOGRAPHER - C1 - 505 TORAH BALE was scratched Ex Wanganui on 30.05.04. GOTTA BOLD BOY was scratched due to an injury. The favourite DEVIOUS JOSH was the slowest away and then collided with RAGTIME REASON on the first corner and lost ground. RAGTIME REASON tailed the field from there and finished several lengths last. TORAH BALE. Trainer S.Gommans. Ex Wanganui on 30.05.04. GOTTA BOLD BOY. Trainer A.Cobain. Rule 259. Race 8 OXFORD HOTEL - C2/3 - 297 The favourite ANGELA SHIRAZ was one of the slowest away and never made up much ground on the leading dogs.
Race 9 MANAWATU OAKS - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 505 Heat 1 CHESTNUT BALE was scratched due to wrist and leg muscle injuries. The race was all clear. CHESTNUT BALE. Trainer D.Garrett. Rule 259. Has wrist and muscle injuries and stood down for 10 days to and including 10.06.04.
Race 10 MANAWATU OAKS - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 505 Heat 1 PUNI FIRE was a club scratching due to being ineligible. No penalty was imposed as the race conditions which were initially printed in the Association magazine were incorrect. NO MORE BLONDES was scratched from Race 11 for the same reason. LITTLE BRUISER was scratched due to a webbing injury. The well supported IRINKA MARY was slow away and then ran wide on the first bend after clipping the heels of another runner on the first bend. She never recovered and finished in last place. The winner FANTASY SHIFTER tightened several other runners on the first turn with SHAVE THE SHEEP being the most affected runner. Race 11 MANAWATU DERBY - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 505 Heat 1 THRILLING SAM was scratched due to a cut to a leg. SANTOFT TIGER was a late scratching at kennelling time when found to have a gracilus muscle injury. The race was all clear. THRILLING SAM. Trainer W.T.Hodgson. Rule 259. Race 12 MANAWATU DERBY - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 505 Heat 1 ASTRO NERONE was slow to begin but finished very well for 3rd placing. KEEN PRECISION moved in on the first corner and checked KOJAZZ who lost ground and dropped back a couple of places.
