to the kennel block as required to parade Nite Hawk Lady for race 5.

Chippewa Brave took an early lead after crossing to the rail prior to the first hurdle - and causing inner dogs to bunch - then raced and stayed clear with a margin in excess of 9 lengths at the line. No falls, all dogs completed course. |

| Race 3 | THE LOCAL HAWERA STAKES - C0 - 520 | Disciplinarian raced across to the rail from the jump, impeding the progress of Teddy Hall. Disciplinarian then checked both Miss Twiggy and Teddy Hall - Miss Twiggy going to the rear and not making any improvement from there.Disciplinarian himself was buffeted about moving through the first bend and had to scramble to retain his footing - the flared out and came into contact with Waitotara Devil. Astrakhan ran along rail into the straight and gathered in the pacemaker, Dusty's Diamond. |
| Race 4 | IVAN FROST MEMORIAL STAKES - C1 - 520 | Devious Josh, an import on debut, disputed the lead in the early stages with Shay Lamour before moving away for a convincing win. Homebush Horse settled towards the rear after the jump, then when moving forward flared out wide to come into contact with Minnie Lass, that dog being forced to move sideways sharply. Both Homebush Horse and Minnie Lass raced at the back from that point. |
| Race 5 | THE LOCAL HAWERA SPRINT - C1 - 305 | Raheny Reason, a favoured runner, was slow to start and was then checked by Thrilling Jack coming back through the field. Thrilling Beryl kept clear of the problems behind her when Thrilling Cody moved over in the early running and caused the field to tighten in his wake. . |
| Race 6 | IVAN COBAIN MEMORIAL STAKES - C1 - 520 | Upahut Loony and Cawbourne Smile were both checked back in middle stages, with Upahut Loony then stepping short as Cawbourne Smile moved in front of him - Upahut Loony finished a distant last. | Race 9 | THE LOCAL HAWERA TARANAKI DISTANCE - C1d - 755 | Our Madge, the short priced favourite, settled second last then switched back and forth between runners, was blocked down the back for a run momentarily before entering the home straight, moved off the rail and then surged between Kiwi and Shave the Sheep and on to the line for the win. |
| Race 10 | TARANAKI KITCHEN STUDIO SPRINT - C2 - 305 | Waiweratai and Mavriki Enya were checked whilst near the rear in the early running - Waiweratai lifting up over the rear of Mavriki Enya in avoiding her.
