Race 2 | ABRAHAMS SPORTS BAR SPRINT - C1 - 295 | SPIRIT OF OZARK and HOMEBUSH JASON were slow to jump from the boxes, settling at the rear. SPIRIT OF OZARK recovered and when improving through the field, tightened the favourite HOMEBUSH SNIPPET and MISS NEMINBO on his outer. SPITIT OF OZARK ran on strongly in the home straight to win the event, with the other two dogs finishing at the rear of the field. |
Race 3 | LAMB & HAYWARD SPRINT - C0 - 295 | HOMEBUSH MARGRET jumped awkwardly from the boxes, settling a distant last. She caught the body of the field into the first corner before striking the hindquarters of both OLD JOE and KIWI BLAZE, almost falling. She finished the event some considerable distance behind the field. She was checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected nothing amiss. Into the first corner OLD JOE struck the hindquarters of KIWI BLAZE, both dogs losing all chance and finishing near the rear. |
Race 4 | CONTAINERS DIRECT INTERTRADE STAKES - C1 - 520 | MULBERRY BEAN was slow to jump from the boxes, settling last never improving during the running. The favourite BUCKS FOLDING drove to the lead, running away to win the event easily. |
Race 5 | BILLS BAR & BISTRO STAKES - C0 - 520 | Into the first corner BURNHAM POWER was tightened between dogs, coming back on a trailing CHOSEN FELLA and LIL ENERGISER. LIL ENERGISER ran on well over the concluding stages to win, with the other two dogs finishing mid field. CABALERO BALE (AC Roberts) deceased. |
Race 6 | GEORGE CALVERT CLEANERS SPRINT - C0 - 295 | CONSENT was slow to jump from the boxes, settling last, however improved wide around the field turning in to run on for third. Into the first corner KAY NINE ROCKET struck the hindquarters of WILMA RUDOLPH, both dogs losing all chance. |
Race 7 | ISLINGTON TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 520 | INTO THE BLUE ran outwards after jumping from the inside box, tightening MOANA NUI and the favourite ROSZEL BALE on his outer. MOANA NUI never recovered finishing last, with ROSZEL BALE running on strongly over the concluding stages for second and INTO THE BLUE third. The second favourite SHADY'S MATE who was second at the end of the back straight, drifted out over the concluding stages to finish second to last. He was checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected nothing amiss. |
Race 8 | HALSWELL TAVERN SPRINT - C0 - 295 | WHAT A STEAL was very slow to jump from the boxes, settling last finishing near the rear of the field. Into the first corner SUSIE HAVOC eased before running very wide on the track, losing all chance finishing last. HOMEBUSH MIRTH (JT McInerney) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 1 June 2004. MULBERRY FLASH (KJ Cassidy) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Race 9 | DAVID EMERSON SPRINT - C1 - 295 | UP A NOTCH was slow to jump from the boxes, settling last finishing amongst the tail enders. Into the first corner HOMEBUSH TEDDY and LYNNY LOU were tightened by dogs on their outer. They finished third and fourth respectively. Into the home straight the leader and eventual winner DREAM CHASER ran outwards towards WEE SWEETIE on her outer. They ran on to finish first and second respectively. Handler GJ Kingston was advised to instruct Trainer D Kingston to improve the dogs racing manners. RUN GEORGIE RUN (JS Rush) right groin strain. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Race 10 | WILSONS SPORTS BAR STAKES - C0 - 520 | LUIGI was very slow to jump from the boxes, settling last never improving during the event. At the end of the back straight SMART HAVOC and GIVEN TITLE came together, both dogs losing ground, coming back on a trailing favourite JUDYANNE BALE and GIVEN THE BLUES. MULBERRY EBO and CLAIN IVORY ran wide on the track to avoid this skirmish. JUDYANNE BALE ran on for third, with the other dogs finishing beyond midfield. |
Race 11 | BOWL AND JACK SPRINT - C2/3 - 295 | CYPRESS LAKES lost momentum soon after jumping from the boxes, settling at the rear never improving. Into the first corner JACK THE ALIEN ran off the rail, coming in contact with HOMEBUSH SALLY'S hindquarters before drifting throught the field to finish a distant last. JACK THE ALIEN was examined by the Club Veterinarian who found her to have sustained a right tricep tear, recommending a 21 day stand down period. FAST AND FIT (D Kingston) was a late scratching at kennelling when weighing in 1.6kgs over her last race weight. Rule 269(3). Tainer D Kingston fined $100.00. JACK THE ALIEN (MM Grant) right triceps tear. Rule 329. 21 days up to and including 17 June 2004. |
Race 12 | EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR SPRINT - C1 - 295 | LIFE'S A GAS drifted to last on jumping from the boxes. Into the first corner LIFE'S A GAS, WEAR THE FERN, ENTHRALL and HOMEBUSH JESS lost all chance as a result of general tightening. ENTHRALL ran on well over the concluding stages for fourth, with the other dogs filling the last three places. |
Race 13 | COASTERS TAVERN STAKES - C0 - 520 | Into the first corner HOMEBUSH RED clipped the hindquarters of CHOPPER'S HAND, as that dog moved down to the rail. It made little difference, CHOPPER'S HAND running away to win the event easily, with HOMEBUSH RED just as easily second. TOKEN KIWI (RS Parker) right shoulder muscle tear. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 9 June 2004. ICE AND COAL (JV Busch) in season. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 25 June 2004. |
Race 14 | TEMPS BAR SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the first corner OUR AFFAIR eased as a result of tightening by dogs on her outer, drifting out to finish second to last. Soon after this incident FATAL OBSESSION struck the hindquarters of ANGRY'S WISH, both dogs running wide on the track losing all chance. They finished near the rear of the field OUR AFFAIR was checked by the club veterinarian and found to have sustained a left hind toe fracture, recommending a 21 day stand down. HOMEBUSH ZARA (JT McInerney) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 5 days up to and including 1 June 2004. OUR AFFAIR (JV Busch) left hind toe fractured.
