Incident Reports

Race Number Race Name Incident Report
Race 1 CAMBRIDGE HURDLES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES HEAT 4 - C1/2hq - 457 Heat 1 Hurdles heat. Won convincingly by Gone Troppo. No falls. All dogs completed course.
Race 2 WWW.DOGTIPS.NET.NZ STAKES - C1 - 457 Browning Bale took an early lead and drew away for a strong win. Last Star was barged over towards the rail in the early running by Black Tibet and from that point drifted and finished at rear. No 4 Daunting Energy (PR Udy). Rule 259 - toe wound. Stand down 3 days to 27.05.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 3 LION FOUNDATION DASH - C1 - 375 Hugh Tyler crossed over from the outside draw in the initial stages but on contacting the outside dogs of the field then began to drift towards the rear where he finished. Raheny Reason scorched away early to win by a margin of 10 lengths - setting a grade record in doing so. No 2 Educating Archie (DL Annette). Rule 259. Stand down 10 days to 02.06.04. VC held.
Race 4 GRAND TAVERN STAKES - C2 - 457 Homebush Fin moved across purposefully after the jump from box five and this caused the inner dogs to bunch tightly - Lika Cruise being particularly impeded. Further along in the running Lika Cruise was buffeted when moving wide to avoid the packing field and from that point was out of contention.
Race 5 PUB CHARITY SPRINT - C1/2 - 375 Marrick Maid and Faithful Mittens raced away in front in a dispute for the lead which continued into the straight entrance where Marrick Maid stepped clear and held well to the line.Mr Luke flared wide in the early running and pushed Kiwi Fire wide as well. .
Race 6 IMPROVERS FINAL - C1 - 457 Just Curly's sustained run from an early stage saw him hold off Supreme Bet at the line. Hypoumunga flared off the rail after a somewhat slow start, edging both Rawhiti Rogue and Lowen Behold wide.
Race 7 PERRY FOUNDATION STAKES - C3 - 375 Big Teddy Boy, the race favourite, took the field through the bend and into the straight before Walton Bale, a noticeably slow starter who had settled briefly at the rear and then progressed steadily along rail, stormed to the lead and ran on for the win. Miss Jade, another favoured runner was forced to climb off the rear of a dog in front of her in the early stages - curtailing her chances.
Race 8 PAPAMOA TAVERN SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Race clear. Oakland Havoc easily to the line after an early break. No 8 Blue Paragon (D Van Meeuwen). Rule 259 - injured gracillus muscle. Stand down 10 days to 03.06.04. VC held.
Race 9 GOBIS 2ND CLUB BONUS SERIES FINAL - RESf - 457 Gobis Final. Keenjackaroo raced midfield then crossed to the rail and moved forward to lead into the straight and surge strongly for the line. The late run of the second dog, Flash Shooter was impressive in that he had checked off the back of another dog in the early stages, jumping wide when so checked. The third placed dog, Astro Doll, came from the rear to place after being blocked in the early stages. No 9 Milanion (JF Allen). 100k rule.
Race 10 CLUB HOUSE CAFE & BAR STAKES - C3 - 457 Dr Bertram was positioned handy to lead when he was forced to step short for several paces as he was climbed on from behind - Dr Bertram drifted from that point and was out of further contention.
