Scales: The clubs usual scales were under repair and the replacement set was not up to standard and proved to be inaccurate. The decision was made to record all weights at the Greyhounds previous start and no weighing took place at this meeting. This will need to be taken into account at the Greyhounds next start.
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine W.J.Hodgson. Rule 135 (1) Failed to observe the dress code. Fined $ 20-00.

Race 1	WELCOME BACK TO HUTT PARK - C0 - 525	CONSENT was scratched due to suffering from diarrhoea. HOMEBUSH LUMP was scratched under the distance from track rule. TEDDY HALL and WILLANDRA BALE jostled together for several strides in the race to the first corner. DUSTY'S DIAMOND moved in on the first corner and checked LORD PLACARD, WILLANDRA BALE and TEDDY HALL with the favourite WILLANDRA BALE going back to last and he stayed well back. W.J.Hodgson was fined $ 20-00 under Rule 135 (1) for a breach of the dress code. CONSENT. Trainer J.McInerney Rule 259. Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 3 days to and including 23.05.04. HOMEBUSH LUMP. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 254. Distance Rule.
Race 2	FOTODOG FOTO'S - WGTN - C0 - 295	WATERLEA LASS was checked and fell on the first corner but was not injured.
Race 3	STEVE ADAMS DASH - C2 - 295	LAST TRAM began awkwardly and settled in last place. He was observed to be making up ground well at the finish to be 4th.
Race 4	BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C1 - 295	HOMEBUSH CHIMES began awkwardly and almost fell losing several lengths and she finished well back. KNIGHT NITE CAPP clipped the heels of TURBO JEWEL on the home turn and dropped back several places.
Race 5	'JOHN READY' DASH - C1 - 295	KIWI BLUE was slow to begin, settled last and then ran wide on the bend and finished at the rear.
Race 6	'PHIL MINOGUE' SPRINT - C1 - 295	RHEA REASON and CHRISTOPHER BALE were checked in the race to the first corner when runners drawn wider on the track moved in towards the rail. RALPH was checked by PAWS A MOMENT on the first corner but recovered to win well.
Race 7	'ROGER WELLING' STAKES - C2 - 525	GOZO LINA was scratched due to a slight injury. HOMEBUSH FINN was scratched and started in Race 12. The race was all clear. GOZO LINA. Trainer G & S Hayden -Holmes. Rule 259. Suffering from a slight groin injury and stood down for 5 days to and including 24.05.04. HOMEBUSH FIN. Trainer J.McInerney. Started in Race 12.
Race 8	'BARBARA DEVENNY' SPRINT - C3 - 295	HURRICANE FOG was checked on the first corner as outside runners moved across. HURRICANE FOG moved out sharply on the home turn and checked DEBRA BALE and ANGELA SHIRAZ who were put off stride and lost some momentum.
Race 9	'CHARLIE LYALL' STAKES - C4/5 - 295	BIBIANA BALE was a club scratching as the Trainer maintained that the dog was placed in the wrong distance race. This could not be confirmed but the benefit of some doubt was given on this occasion. BIBIANA BALE. Trainer D.Garrett. Club scratching.
Race 10	'GEORGE ELPHICK' STAKES - C1 - 525	GOTTA BOLD BOY was slow to begin and stayed well back throughout.
Race 11	'KEVIN PURVIS' STAKES - C1 - 525	SHAVE THE SHEEP was checked and almost fell on the first corner as outside runners moved across towards the rail. RAGTIME REASON was handy until the final bend where he dropped back quickly to finish several lengths last. The Vets inspection failed to pinpoint any injuries at that time. DUSTY NERO suffered a spike injury during the race and was stood down for 7 days. DUSTY NERO. Trainer L.Fornasiere. Rule 329. Suffered a spike wound and stood down for 7 days to and including 27.05.04.
Race 12	NZ FUTURITY - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 525 Heat 1	HOMEBUSH BRIAN was scratched due to suffering from diarrhoea. JETSET TOKEN was checked on the first corner, moved out and pushed TRENDY RHODE and HOMEBUSH FIN wide on the bend and all three lost several lengths. IDOL APPEAL moved in entering the back straight and checked SPEED TWIN who was moving forward at the time and he lost about four lengths. HOMEBUSH BRIAN. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 259. Suffering from diarrhoea and stood down for 3 days to and including 22.05.04.
Race 13	NZ FUTURITY - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 525 Heat 1	TIGHNABRUICH moved out on the first corner and bumped INSIDE COVER onto TOKEN EGO who almost fell and then dropped out to finish a long last. TOKEN EGO was checked by the Vet and stood down for 3 days with a slight leg injury. TOKEN EGO. Trainer A.Roberts. Rule 329. Suffered a slight leg injury and stood down for 3 days to and including 22.05.04.
Race 14	NZ FUTURITY - HEAT 3 - R/Aq - 525 Heat 1	Tightening on the first corner resulted in checks to BANKSIDE BABE, RUSTY COCONUT, SAVIOLA, RADFORD REASON and SMART TIP. BANKSIDE BABE pulled up quickly and was found to have suffered a serious hock injury and was stood down for 30 days. BANKSIDE BABE. Trainer Adcock / Hopping. Rule 329. Suffered a serious hock injury and stood down for 30 days to and including 19.06.04.
Race 15	NZ FUTURITY - HEAT 4 - R/Aq - 525 Heat 1	SHE SHEPHERD pulled up on the home turn and eventually finished a long distance behind the others. SHE SHEPHERD then died due to reasons unknown as there were no visible injuries. SHE SHEPHERD. Trainer A.Dugancich. Rule 329. Died at the end of the race.
