Race 1 BELLBIRD ARMS DASH - C0 - 318 Ettinger Bale, on debut, sprinted away from the field after the jump and held with ease to the line.
Race 2 MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C0 - 527 Willandra Bale, also on debut, was quickly to the front and left a spread out field in her wake, winning with a margin of 12 lengths. Eyes Ben dwelt slightly at the staff and was then, in early running, pushed out by Ore Well - a few strides further on Eyes Ben was again pushed wide, this time by Bonnie Token.
Race 3 CATERING PROFESSIONALS STAKES - C0 - 527 Heza Scallywag and Sharabang were in early contact whilst racing towards the rear - Sharabang tailed off and did not feature from that point.
Race 4 TINT-A-CAR DASH - C0 - 318 Whipwop Patch and Bedas Boy, the favourite, ran with shoulder to shoulder contact after the jump. Grogan Lee was the leader until Rum Dancer and Jumbo Flash worked their way forward and gathered him in - Grogan Lee then dropped back through the field and checked the progress of Design A Spot en route.
Race 5 CAROL'S TAB DASH - C1 - 318 Thrilling Jack surged across from the outside draw to take lead from Bigbad Ben then held strongly from that point. Winsome Eels was checked back from midfield entering the bend and following that flared wide into the straight. .
Race 6 ROYAL WOLF CONTAINERS STAKES - C1 - 527 Shaka Malawi and Roszel Bale were slow starters and made no impact on the field in front of them from that point.
Race 7 FRIDAY FLASH STAKES - C1 - 527 Race clear.
Race 8 NORTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH DASH - C1 - 318 Race clear.
Race 9 SUDSARELLA LAUNDRY STAKES - C1 - 527 The favourite Mario Scenario dwelt slightly at the start then settled behind field as they raced into the first bend - down the back straight he gradually worked forward but by the straight entrance had not gained sufficent ground to impact on the placegetters, finishing fourth. No 8 Unlawful Lass (SP Clark). Rule 329 - injured during running - hind leg cut. Stand down 5 days to 22.05.04.VC held.
Race 10 JIMBO'S PETFOODS DASH - C2 - 318 Marrick Maid took an early lead and held off a strong challenge from Go Tyler Go. No Invitation drifted back to the rear after being squeezed tightly between Faithful Habit and Faithful Bart in the early stages.
Race 11 MANUKAU RESTRICTED - HEAT 1 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1 Rocking Queen buffeted Ceramic wide whilst they negotiated the bend, Ceramic dropping back out of contentiion. After momentarily holding the lead into the first bend, Rikkilee Kiwi pursued the next leader and eventual winner Lazy Alex down the back straight before tiring and drifting back - checking dogs as he did so. Lazy Alex continued on for a decisive 11 length win. No 6 Terrigal Drive (K Walsh). Rule 259 - soreness to right wrist and left wrist pain on flexion.Stand down 10 days to 26.05.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 12 MANUKAU RESTRICTED - HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 527 Heat 1 Bedazzled Jewel, from box 2 moved out strongly after the jump- simultaneously with the dog from box 7, Overload, moving in. The resultant tightening impeded the progress of the dogs drawn between. No 8 Bazil's Token (B & L Craik). Rule 259 - left fore leg injury. Stand down 10 days to 27.05.04. VC held.
Race 13 COCA-COLA DASH - C2/3 - 318 Race clear.
Race 14 COMMERCIAL PLUMBING STAKES - C2 - 527 The field packed closely at the first bend, Wild Whiz coming back and impeding Mean Tyler as a result. The favourite Harvard Chief moved along the rail entering the home straight - then when reaching the front, ran unchallenged to the line.
Race 15 RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C3/4 - 527 A strong front-running display from Paddy Power was rewarded when he reached the line first. Red Country and Lindale Express were in contact whilst racing at the rear in the early stages. No 8 World Priority (SC Mann). Rule 259 - strained hock. Stand down 30 days to 13.05.04.
Race 16 WWW.EXPOSURES.CO.NZ - WEBSITE HOSTING - C4/5 - 318 The well supported Fashion Thief was positioned handy to the lead in the initial stages but then on crossing towards the rail came into sharp shoulder to shoulder contact with Pure Honcho. Fashion Victim drifted back and wide, sought to move back towards the rail again but was then buffeted by Robust Rock and put out of contention.
