Judicial report: Weather: Fine A satisfactory trial in terms of Rule 179.1 was ordered for the greyhound Cecilia Tony
(JT McInerney) following the second hurdles heat, race 2, when that dog avoided the final hurdle. The registration papers are to be endorsed when the trail has been completed.

Race 1 CAMBRIDGE HURDLES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES HEAT 2 - C1/2hq - 457 Heat 1 Hurdles heat. Seven starters. All dogs competed course. No falls. No 7 Emerald Forest ( MN Boyd). Rule 258. Stand down 30 days to 08.06.04.
Race 2 CAMBRIDGE HURDLES CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES HEAT 3 - C1/2hq - 457 Heat 1 Hurdles heat. All dogs with exception of Cecilia Tony competed the course - a satisfactory trial was ordered for Cecilia Tony. No falls.
Race 3 MANUKAU MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375 Raheny Reason entered straight running wide then raced across to the track inner, challenged strongly and claimed the race in the last strides. Classic Tyler moved out sharply after the jump, tightening outer dogs - further on in running Waingaro Lassie checked off the back of Pitter Patter and fell heavily to the track. Waingaro Lassie regained her footing and finished a distant last. A post race veterinary examination cleared her of injury.
Race 4 RACEWAY STAKES - C0 - 457 Scandinavian worked along the rail after the jump then entering the straight moved to the front and held to the line. Paddle Foot led the field towards straight entrance but when the field bunched around her drifted to the back and made no improvement from there.
Race 5 MANAWATU MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375 Achieve A Dream and Dissipate flared wide rounding bend into straight - both racing towards the back at that point and not improving markedly from there. No 4 Shinee Dan (FD Farmer). Dog deceased. No 9 Bit Of Grit ( J & L Nixon). Rule 254 - 100K. .
Race 6 IMPROVERS HEAT 1 - C1q - 457 Heat 1 Upahut Axion finished running on to finish behind the placed dogs, moving from towards the rear to do so.
Race 7 WWW.DOGTIPS.NET.NZ SPRINT - C1 - 375 Race clear.
Race 8 TOKOROA STAKES - C0 - 457 Bucks Folding was noticeably slow to start but quickly recovered the field to be prominently placed moving into the straight - but when challenging could not gather in the early pacemaker, the favourite Awesome Enforcer.
Race 9 IMPROVERS HEAT 2 - C1q - 457 Heat 1 Lowen Behold, from the inside draw, raced midfield early then moved along track inner to take lead into straight and on strongly to the line.
Race 10 IMPROVERS HEAT 3 - C1q - 457 Heat 1 The favourite Terrigal Drive started on terms with the field then raced across to settle behind Justa Toff and Supreme Bet. During the run around the bend, Terrigal Drive checked off the back of Smokin' Time, the favourite's hind legs splaying down onto the track - he was not able to recover in time to place.
Race 11 IMPROVERS HEAT 4 - C1q - 457 Heat 1 The first reserve, He's Hypo, from box 7, held off the fast finishing Rawhiti Rogue in his NZ debut. No 7 Easter Man (K Lomas) - gained start in race 17.
Race 12 WELLINGTON SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Race clear. No 4 Knockabout Fred (J & D Fahey). Rule 259 - sesamoid joint sprain.Stand down 10 days to 19.05.04. VC held.
Race 13 WANGANUI STAKES - C2 - 457 Silk Ripple was a late scratching, reducing the field to 7 starters. Someone took the lead early and held to the line, withstanding a late run from Gozo Reg. Late scratching: No 3 Silk Ripple (CJ Morris). Rule 259 - kennel cough. Stand down 10 days to 20.05.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 14 ADDINGTON DASH - C1/2 - 375 Ardishah was a late scratching, leaving seven dogs to start. Bozo Fulton was in running shoulder to shoulder contact with Lickem Luke in the intial stages, then further on was squeezed towards rail - drifting from there and finishing towards the rear. No 7 Dizzy Spell (B & L Craik). Rule 259 - hip injury.Stand down 30 days to 08.06.04. Late scratching: No 9 Ardishah (CJ Morris). Rule 259 - kennel cough. Stand down 10 days to 20.05.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 15 GOBIS CLUB BONUS 2ND SERIES HEAT 1 - RESq - 457 Heat 1 Astro Doll with a convincing win after establishing an early lead.
Race 16 GOBIS CLUB BONUS 2ND SERIES HEAT 2 - RESq - 457 Heat 1 Homebush Brian converted an early lead to a decisive win.Here's Freddie claimed the second placing from Milanion right on the line with a strong late surge. The favourite Inside Cover dwelt slightly at the start, then when making a forward move faced a wall of dogs in front - she was then checked and went back - out of contention from that point.
Race 17 GOBIS CLUB BONUS 2ND SERIES HEAT 3 - RESq - 457 Heat 1 The favourite Tighnabruich lept sharply upwards, without obvious cause, several paces following the jump. Entering the bend at the back of the field, the greyhounds Tighnabruich, Kiwi Mana and Keen Precision bunched together in contact - all such dogs having their chances of improving forward affected No 5 Muslie Man (W Steele). Rule 259 - treated for foreign body obstruction. Stand down 10 days to 19.05.04. VC held.
Race 18 GOBIS CLUB BONUS 2ND SERIES HEAT 4 - RESq - 457 Heat 1 Race clear.
Race 19 SOLWAY STAKES - C2/3 - 457 Ballibeast, from the inside draw, quickly stepped clear of the field and held well to the line. Big Teddy Boy from box 2, and I'm Wishing from box 7, converged towards mid track after exiting and caused the dogs between them to tighten noticeably.
