Judicial report: Weather: Fine Clarification of cause of boxes failing to open in race four still being sought. Matter rectified within minutes and race started without further incident.

| Race 3 | LION FOUNDATION SPRINT - C0 - 375 | Run Jimmy Run slow at start after going down on haunches -did well to recover field and end up just in behind placed greyhounds. Hugo Tyler prevailed with strong late run after flaring wide at straight entrance. |
| Race 4 | RAGLAN SPRINT - C1 - 375 | Boxes failed to open when lure went past - problem rectified and after dogs were placed again in boxes race under way some four mintes late. Miss Tracey Lee proved superior after withstanding strong late finish from Faithful Bart. Blue County tumbled onto track after running contact with Flash Tyler - this preceded by Flash Tyler switching out in front of Blue County causing that dog to check off her hindquarters. Blue County cleared of injury post race. No 2 Lucky Ollie (W Steele). Rule 259 - bruising right gracilus. Stand down 5 days to 23.04.04. Dog presented. VC held. No 8 Can Candy Capp (A Duganzich). Under stand down from Wanganui. |
| Race 5 | PALACE HOTEL DASH - C1 - 375 | Mavriki Enya prevailed in close finish over BigBad Ben after settling on track inner and covering no extra ground. The favourite Black Tyler started slowly then quickly raced up to join leaders - only to be checked when Son Of Sarabi climbed on her back and then further on in running as dogs entered straight the same dog checked her again and put paid to her chances. |

| Race 7 | TAUWHARE SPRINT - C1 - 375 | Turbo Jewel showed early speed and held lead until checked from behind by Hostile Reign. Hostile Reign and Kiwi Fire were both checked in the midst of the pack in middle stages of bend - Miss Dusty also checked and fortunate not to fall when hind legs forced down on track. Kiwi Fire stepped clear and finished on for third place. Go Tyler Go was not involved in problems in running and ran away to win with ease. |

| Race 9 | 1ST LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C1d - 630 | The favourite Soulstorm from box 7 raced on the outer of the field as Sharp Strike led through first bend. Soulstorm came into contact with Solo Cruise and both dogs raced at back from that point. Truant cleared away and held on well. |
| Race 10 | 2ND LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C1d - 630 | Mister Zinger missed the jump and was at rear throughout. Rasmah Reason, after disputing lead with Justa Toff, cleared away and left spread-eagled field behind him. |
| Race 11 | CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C1 - 457 | The favourite Gozo Reg started on terms with the field and settled midfield. When seeking to move over to the rail Gozo Reg was squeezed for racing room and bunched in - he then dropped back and did not feature in finish. No 2 Terrigal Drive (K Walsh). Rule 259 - soreness left wrist and rhs triceps. Stand down 10 days to 28.04.04. Dog presented. VC held. |
| Race 12 | DINSDALE TAVERN DASH - C2 - 375 | Miss Jade and Gechie Lobo in shoulder to shoulder contact after jump - Miss Jade dropped back out of contention. |

| Race 14 | TAMAHERE DASH - C3 - 375 | Bahama Bale took the early lead and held until the favourite Sue Van Gill ranged alongside rounding bend but then flared wide entering straight, losing ground. Bahama Bale held strongly to line. No 3 Big Teddy Boy (W Steele). Rule 259 - swelling left fore leg. Stand down 5 days to 23.04.04. Dog presented. VC held. |
| Race 15 | PAPAMOA TAVERN STAKES - C2 - 457 | Romberg Reason claimed the pacemaking Lazy Alex in last strides. Bozo Fulton was slow to start but recovered well to place third, taking an opportunity which opened up when Osbourne flared wide at the straight entrance when under pressure on his inner from Ina Tizzy. |
| Race 16 | GET OUT STAKES - C4/5 - 457 | Winsome Dixie slow to start. Paddy Power held sustained run to the line. During early stages of bend Winsome Dixie out of contention after striking rail. No 4 Lindale Express (M Earley). Rule 259 - periostitus around right fibula. Stand down 7 days to 26.04.04. Dog presented. VC held. |
