ALLEGRO FLIGHT and BLUE COUNTY were tightened and checked back to the rear on ther first corner when JODAMAN moved across towards the rail. JODAMAN was galloped on in the incident and also lost ground. PAWS A MOMENT. Trainer R.McBride. Rule 259. Has skinned pads and stood down for 10 days to and including 10.04.04.
Race 2	HOUSE OF TRAVEL STAKES - C1 - 520	SMART TIP, RIVETTE REASON, TUDOR QUEEN and AND VICTORIA were checked and lost ground on the first turn.
Race 3	RUSH HIRE STAKES - C1/2 - 520	JEMALONG BRUISER was a late scratching when found to have a toe injury at kennelling time. ENROLLMENT was scratched due to a foot injury. JEMALONG BRUISER. Trainer G.Cleeve. Rule 259. Late scratched due to a toe injury. Stood down for 7 days to and including 08.04.04. ENROLLMENT. Trainer G.Frost. Rule 259. Has a swollen hind foot and stood down for 10 days to and including 10.04.04.
Race 4	HEADS ROAD VETERINARY STAKES - C3 - 520	HOMEBUSH BILL was scratched due to a pad injury. CUTIE'S DIAMOND and OUR LARRY were checked early in the race and dropped back to the rear. They never improved much and finished near the rear. HOMEBUSH BILL. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 259. Suffering from a pad injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 09.04.04.
Race 5	VITAPOWER DISTANCE - C1d - 645	TUKI AQUA was scratched due to suffering from wrist pain. CLYDEBANK was scratched due to an injured shoulder. One of the favourites CHALLENGER BALE was slow to begin and then made firm contact with the rail on the first turn. He made a good recovery to run home well for 2nd placing. TUKI AQUA. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 259. Suffering from wrist pain and stood down for 14 days to and including 13.04.04. CLYDEBANK. Trainer O.Marron. Rule 259. Has a shoulder injury and stood down for 10 days to and including 11.04.04.
Race 6	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES SPRINT - C3 - 305	STYLISH SUSIE ran in from the start and caused checks to SUMMER SWEET, JOSEPH LOCKE and LOVE HABIT with the favourite SUMMER SWEET being the most affected. She never recovered and finished in last place.
Race 7	DOUBLE S MOTORDROME PROGRESSIVE FEATURE - C2 - 520	TRUANT was scratched due to pad injuries. KOJAZZ was scratched and started in race three. GOLD TOY moved in starting the back straight and jostled MAID OF QUEEN and CALM DOMINO for a few strides. MAID OF QUEEN turned its head to fight with the winner GOLD TOY in the last few strides and after viewing the video films, the Trainers representative elected to admit that a breach of the rules had occurred and MAID OF QUEEN was stood down for one month under Rule 322 (1) (a) and is required to trial before its next Totalisator start. J.McInerney was observed to run across the centre of the course to catch his dog after the race. It was then established that J.Hill had been organized to catch the dog but was not available. J.Hill was fined $ 20-00 under Rule 135 (1) for not carrying out that arrangement. B.Dann was fined $ 20-00 under Rule 135 (1) for being late to collect his dog from the kennels for the start of the race. TRUANT Trainer K.Walsh. Rule 259. Suffering from skinned pads, was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 05.04.04. MAID OF QUEEN. Trainer J.McInerney. Rule 322 (1) (a). Fighting and stood down for one month to and including 01.05.04.
Race 8	EXCEED STAYERS - C2d - 645	UNIQUE SPECIES was scratched due to suffering from skinned pads. MCDEEBEE jumped well but was then checked early in the race and went back to last. He recovered to gradually make up ground and won well. UNIQUE SPECIES. Trainer B.Cole. Rule 259. Has skinned pads and was presented and stood down for 5 days to and including 05.04.04.
Race 9	ANDERSON'S FOR MEN '520' - C4 - 520	The favourite TIME SQUAD moved away from the rail on the first corner and ran very wide, forcing GERSHWIN JEWEL and RAILROAD PAT wide over extra ground.
Race 10	PIRATES RUGBY & SPORTS CLUB SPRINT - C4 - 305	One of the favourites ALLEGRO EXPRESS was galloped on and checked back to last on the first corner. He never recovered and finished in last place.
