Race 1 FRIDAY FLASH DASH - C1 - 375 Sue Van Gill put early break on field but was gathered in mid-straight by Philip Bale, that dog moving along the rail well.
Race 2 LAMONT CONTRACTING STAKES - C1 - 457 Light Of Smile pulled up shortly after the jump and was later confirmed to have sustained a severe injury, requiring a lengthy stand down. Lazy Alex held narrowly from Ina Tizzy in the early running, as those two dogs put a break on the rest of the field - Ina Tizzy took control in a strong contest and held. Moving through the bend No Invitation was galloped on by Lucy Ollie, No Inviation's legs being splayed out on the track and being out of contention from there. No 2 Light Of Smile (GA Lawrence). Rule 329 - dropped right gracilus. Stand down 30 days to 30.04.04. VC held.
Race 3 CAMBRIDGE GRAIN DISTANCE SERIES FINAL - C2df - 747 Calm Abiding guided field through first bend and right to the straight entrance, holding until gathered in by Super Tod - Super Tod then moving away for a decisive win. Super Gold finished on late for second. No 4 Whiskey Pete (JT McInerney). Rule 259 - ligament rupture, toe.Stand down 28 days to 27.04.04. VC held.
Race 4 PATHWAYS TO NZ LTD HURDLES - C1/2h - 457 Hurdles. Destroyer Dottie was a casualty, falling after the first jump. Kiwi Blue struck and knocked the final hurdle panels flat on the track. The favourite Time Code was slow to start and made little progress from there. Gone Troppo jumped well and held well in the run to the line. A post race veterinary examination cleared Destroyer Dottie and Kiwi Blue of injury. No 9 Justa Hustler (BL Hood). Rule 254 (100k). No 10 Rotary Talent (BL Hood). Rule 254 (100k).
Race 5 VEHICLE SERVICES DASH - C3 - 375 Speed Signal was squeezed for racing room at the start. The favourite, Tap To It ranged wide at the bend, easing Little Toot wide as well. .
Race 6 STEWART & CAVALIER STAKES - C2 - 457 Race clear.
Race 7 LOWE SCHOLLUM JONES SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Oakland Havoc started well and withstood a withering challenge down the home straight from Monty Tyler to take a close decision. Thelma Bale bored out at the jump, squeezing Aston Marshal for racing room - Aston Marshal was later checked, and skewed sideways for several paces when caught on the outer of dogs tightening towards the rail.
Race 8 ANGUS WRIGHT MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE - INV - 457 Group 2 Angus Wright Memorial. Swift Appeal, in his debut run in New Zealand, was a noticeably slow starter, railed swiftly to be positioned third into the straight, then unleashed a sustained driving run which took him to a nose decision between the pacemakers, Speed Twin and Fashion Thief. The first three dogs were clear of the rest of the field, although Catch Me Soon was running on late.
Race 9 CAMBRIDGE MITRE 10 - C5 - 457 Token Ego snatched the race from the pacemaker Blue Paragon in the last few strides to the line. No 1 Cardiogram (AC Roberts). Rule 259 - split webbing. Stand down 14 days to 13.04.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 10 JR'S PAINT SHOP - C3/4 - 457 Clock Stopper took an early lead and held strongly from that point. Dr Bertram was slow to start, then ran wide around field, finishing on late, but failing to place.
