Judicial report: Weather: Fine An inquiry was opened and adjourned into an alleged physical confrontation between Licence holder J.Manihera and an unknown non Licence holder in the bar / cafateria area before the last race.

HURRICANE FOG was tightened on the first corner and then ran onto the heels of DOCTOR FLYNT and checked that dog. HURRICANE FOG then moved out and pushed DESTROYER DOTTIE very wide over extra ground.. FARMER BENSON was also hindered in the incident and ran wide. FAITHFUL HABIT. Trainer N.Green. Rule 259. | Race 2 | EXCEED STAKES - C3 - 520 | The favourite MEAN VIPER was the slowest away and then collided with KEENJACKAROO on the first corner. They both settled at the rear and stayed well back. |
| Race 3 | RUSH HIRE MAIDEN FEATURE - C0 - 520 | UNO BILLY JOE and YUKON LANE were scratched due to injury. RUBY HALL was scratched ex Wellington on 23.03.04. HEZA SCALLYWAG was tightly placed and galloped onto the back of JUBILANT MISS on the first corner and caused that runner to fall. HEZA SCALLYWAG then moved out and collided with WAITOTARA DEVIL who was pushed wide. JUBILANT MISS was examined by the vet and found to be bruised and will spell for 5 days. UNO BILLY JOE. | Race 8 | HEADS ROAD VETERINARY STAKES - C4 - 520 | S.Mann the Trainer of WORLD PRIORITY requested permission to scratch from this event on the grounds that the track was dangerous but this was denied. He was advised that he could scratch the dog but he would be charged under Rule 256 and the dog could be stood down for 30 days under Rule 257. WORLD PRIORITY took its place in the field. Soon after the start, WORLD PRIORITY moved in after drawing box six and tightened all the runners drawn inside with the favoured runners TIME SQUAD and TRENDY RHODE being the most affected. |
| Race 9 | JOHN LITHGOW STAKES - C4/5 - 520 | In this, the feature race of the night, the three favourites SOME JOE, THRILLING SAM and PILLI APPEAL proved too good and filled the first three places. |
| Race 10 | DOUBLE 'S' MOTORDROME SPRINT - C5 - 305 | PACIFIC JAZZY, MONTY TYLER and BLACK ALLEGRO were all slow to begin but BLACK ALLEGRO made ground well to run third. |
