Judicial report: Weather: Fine Mr WT Hodgson, trainer of Thrilling Zack and Thrilling Duke, entrants in race three, was charged with a breach of Rule 135.1. when he failed to present such greyhounds before the expiration of the scheduled kennelling period. The Judicial Chairman accepted a guilty plea and fined Mr Hodgson the sum of $50.00.

Race 1 CAMBRIDGE HURDLES - C1/2h - 457 Hurdles race. Only five starters remained in field at the jump. No falls, all dogs completed the course. Time Code held with sustained run. No 2 Off The Bench ( BJ Jordan). Under stand down from Palmerston North meeting on 17.03.04. No 6 Cherokee Squaw (BJ Melville). Under stand down from Palmerston North meeting on 17.03.04. No 8 Chipewa Brave (BJ Melville). Under stand down from Palmerston North meeting on 17.03.04.
Race 2 DINSDALE TAVERN DASH - C2 - 375 The field tightened entering the bend and Wild Whiz, up handy to lead, was squeezed badly and went back. Flash Tyler was galloped on by Homebush Leo and was forced down on her haunches. Wild Whiz, Flash Tyler and Homebush Leo were all out of contention from that point.Miss Jade finished on for third.
Race 3 CAMBRIDGE MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 457 Thrilling Zack was caught as the field bunched at the bend, after racing along on outer and then seeking to move to rail - he was checked and dipped forward but regained his momentum to recover along rail and finished strongly down the straight - but could not gather in the early leader, Hostile Girlie who had raced clear from box 8. Spooky Fella was in early contact with Thrilling Duke, after the jump, then suffered further when field tightened and he was checked to the rear. A post race veterinary examination revealed that Spooky Fella had sustained a pad injury during the running. No 4 Spooky Fella (GN Pomeroy). Rule 329 - pad injury. Stand down 10 days to 28.03.04. VC held.
Race 4 CAMBRIDGE DISTANCE SERIES HEAT - C2dq - 747 Heat 1 Gozo Reg charged off, putting a break on the field until entering the home straight where Super Tod ran the tiring pacemaker down and held to the line. Lady Tianne gave notice with spirited late finish for second.
Race 5 MANUKAU SPRINT - C3 - 375 Longest Drive was squeezed for early racing room and was checked soon after - she remained at back throughout race. No 3 Speed Signal (M Earley). Under stand down from Auckland meeting on 16.03.04. .
Race 6 BRUNTWOOD STAKES - C2 - 457 Maid Of Queen was checked back on jumping,from the inside draw,by Token Sniper. Token Sniper moved off the rail in the early running and into the path of Coruba Storm, that dog being pushed out onto Maid Of Queen, then recovering along outer. Maid Of Queen was forced wide and raced at the back from there.
Race 7 TE RAPA TAVERN DASH - C4/5 - 375 Blue Paragon blitzed away and held in style for track record. Oakland Havoc went down on hind quarters at the jump and conceded ground badly, only recovering to the back of the field.
Race 8 GOBIS CLUB BONUS SERIES FINAL - RESf - 457 Gobis Club final. Homebush Lad prevailed after early contest for lead by Busting Out and Homebush Brian. Four dogs featured in the finish for the minor placings - Flash Shooter and Muslie Man getting the call. Busting Out fell and cartwheeled along the track after being squeezed against the rail by Homebush Brian and then on scrambling, checking sharply off that dog's back. Busting Out regained his feet and finished at the rear. No injury was sustained.
Race 9 PAPAMOA TAVERN STAKES - C5 - 457 Lindale Express was squeezed badly at the start and took no real part in race.
Race 10 CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C3/4 - 457 Wolf Girl Jess led into the straight from Top Allegro until Orana City went past - despite desperate late charge for the line by Wolf Girl Jess, Orana City prevailed in close photo call.
