Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer JV Busch fined $100.00 for breach of Rule 269(3) due to her dog SUSIE HAVOC weighing in 1.7kgs under her last racestart.
AC Roberts and Mrs G McInerney fined $25.00 each for a breach of Rule 135(1) for failing to present their respective dogs for a stir up at the required time in Race 7.

Race 1 | PEDIGREE ADVANCE SPRINT - C1 - 295 | The favourite DICTATION dwelt slightly at the start, however recovered along the rail into the first corner, to run away and win the event well. JANE'S COMMANDO who was slow to jump from the boxes, settled last running on for fourth. Into the first corner MAD BREW who was clear in the lead, broke down, running to the outside of the track and pulling up. When checked by the Club Veterinarian he was found to have sustained a fractured right hock and was euthanised on humane grounds. In the first bend GLEN HAVOC was tightened by HOMEBUSH FRANK on his outer, losing momentum. Soon after this incident BRIGHT ECHO struck the hindquarters of TURBO JEWEL, who drifted quickly through the field. BRIGHT ECHO ran on for third, with TURBO JEWEL and GLEN HAVOC finishing at the rear of the field. The second favourite HOMEBUSH FRANK ran wide around the bend, losing ground finishing fifth. MAD BREW (M&J Jopson) euthanised on humane grounds after fracturing right hock. |
Race 2 | ISLINGTON TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 520 | SOFA LOAFER was slow to jump from the outside box, settling last never improving during the event. Into the first corner SPIRIT OF OZARK and HONEY'S MEMORY came together, losing momentum, both dogs finishing at the rear of the field. |
Race 3 | SUPERPETS SPRINT - C0 - 295 | The favourite RED'S MISTAKE ran wide around the bend and into the home straight, finishing sixth. On the entrance to the home straight KIWI BLAZE and GRACE HAVOC came together, both dogs losing momentum filling the last two places. NOT A WHEELER (RS Parker) in season. Rule 258. 30 days up to and including 16 April 2004. |
Race 4 | HALSWELL TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 520 | Into the first corner SEPTEMBER STORM and FIFI THE FLEA came together, with FIFI THE FLEA moving outwards forcing FLY BYE ANGEL wide on the track. FLY BYE ANGEL never recovered from the incident, finishng last. |
Race 5 | WINNING EDGE SPRINT - C0 - 295 | JUST A LAD was slow to jump from the boxes, settling last never improving during the running. Around the bend the favourite JUMP START ran wide, along with CASTAWAY HAVOC, both dogs losing ground finishing amongst the tail enders. Trainer JV Busch was shown the race film and advised to improve CASTAWAY HAVOC'S racing manners. SUSIE HAVOC (JV Busch) was a late scratching at kennelling when weighing 1.7kgs under her last race start. Trainer Busch fined $100.00 in accordance with Rule 269(3). |
Race 6 | COASTERS TAVERN STAKES - C0 - 520 | On the entrance to the first corner BLACKHEATH SCOT and OLE DARK were checked, losing all chance, finishing amongst the tail enders. |
Race 7 | BARRON'S SUPPLIES SPRINT - C1 - 295 | LIF'E A GAS drifted to last soon after jumping, running wide around the bend into the home straight, finishing last. Around the first corner SAMMY HAVOC and the favourite HOMEBUSH SHADOW came together, both dogs losing momentum. SAMMY HAVOC ran on in the straight for fourth with HOMEBUSH SHADOW finishing near the rear. Mrs G McInerney, the Handler of HOMEBUSH SHADOW was late in presenting the winner for the stir up. AC Roberts, Trainer of EUAN SUBRITZKY was also late to present his dog for the stir up. Both were charged with a breach of Rule 135 (1) and were each fined $25.00. |

Race 9 | SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C1 - 520 | Around the first corner HUGH DAGG and VAL'S FELLA came together, both dogs losing momentum finishing at the rear of the field. EFFERVESCENCE jumped to a clear lead on jumping from the boxes and was never headed, winning well. |
Race 10 | ABRAHAMS SPORTS BAR SPRINT - C1 - 295 | TOP CURRENT, APHRODITE QUEEN and MULBERRY ROLL were slow to jump from the boxes, settling well back. Into the first corner TOP CURRENT, APHRODITE QUEEN and HOMEBUSH SALLY came together, losing momentum. Into the home straight APHRODITE QUEEN ran outwards, coming in contact with TAR SEAL on her outer. HOMEBUSH SALLY ran on for fourth, with the other dogs finishing at the rear of the field. |
Race 11 | GEORGE CALVERT CLEANERS STAKES - C1 - 520 | Into the first corner MOANA NUI and WAVE THE FERN came together, both dogs running wide around the bend as a result. They never recovered, finishing near the rear of the field. SET AGLOW drifted to last soon after jumping from the boxes, finishing the event some distance behind the field. |
Race 12 | COALGATE TAVERN SPRINT - C1 - 295 | Into the first corner TRAVELLIN' JACK and MY PERK came together, TRAVELLIN' JACK coming back on a trailing HOMEBUSH BOY. These dogs lost momentum, finishing midfield. XAVIER'S STAR dwelt slightly at the start, settling near the rear of the field with FATAL OBSESSION, both dogs never improving during the running filling the last two placings. |
