Judicial report: Weather: Sunny warm conditions. KJ Cassidy Owner/Trainer of MULBERRY BEAN a late scratching in Race 4 was fined $100.00 under Rule 264 (3).
The inquiry against AC Roberts and dog EUEN SUBRITZKY was reconvened from Thrusday 11 March 2004. After hearing the evidence the Judicial Officer found the charge not proven.

Race 3 | ROCKCOTE SPRINT - C2 - 295 | Soon after jumping from the boxes CECILIA LUGER has run inward, coming in contact with HIT A HOMER who lost ground as a result, drifting out to finish second to last. Into the first corner the second favourite WHATA TEX struck the hindquarters of KING LOUIS and fell. He regained his feet finishing the event some distance behind the field. Both he and HIT A HOMER were checked by the Club Veterinarian, with HIT A HOMER found to have right hip soreness, with a 14 day stand down recommended. Race 4 | BILLS BAR & BISTRO FUTURITY HEAT 2 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | SUNSET COAST was very slow to jump from the boxes settling last, however drove along the rail around the first corner and into the back straight, challenging the leader TURBO ROYALE, turning in to win the heat impressively. MULBERRY BEAN (JK Cassidy) was a late scratching at kennelling when found to be 1.6kg over its last race start. |
Race 5 | BILLS BAR & BISTRO FUTURITY HEAT 3 - R/Aq - 520 Heat 1 | PROSPIRENE was slow to jump from the boxes settling last, however improved along the back and into the back straight finishing fifth. The favourite SUNSET JEST drove to the lead into the first corner, leading well into the home straight before his condition gave out, being run down over the concluding stages by the second favourite GOLD TOY. |

Race 8 | GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND SPRINT - C4 - 295 | Into the first corner JIMMY JOB, the favourite HOMEBUSH WILLY and RINALDI ASTON lost all chance as a result of general tightening, filling the last three places. RAPID EXPRESS (JV Bush) was a late scratching at 10:00am when found to have a severe gralilus injury. Rule 257. 30 days up to and including 10 April 2004. |
Race 9 | GEORGE CALVERT CLEANERS STAKES - C4 - 520 | Into the first corner TURBO WARRIOR eased as a result of general tightening. Soon after this incident FERRIS BALE and SUPERSTITIOUS came together, with both dogs running outwards, checking GERSHWIN JEWEL. On the entrance to the back straight TURBO WARRIOR endeavoured to improve along the rail, striking the hindquarters of BLACK ECHO, before checking outwards and colliding with SUPERSTITIOUS. These dogs never recovered, finishing some distance behind the place getters. |
Race 10 | WINNING EDGE STAKES - C3 - 520 | CHALLENGER BALE drifted to last soon after jumping from the boxes. Into the first corner BACK EAR JACK and IRINKA CHOCO were checked as a result of general tightening, settling near the rear. Into the back straight an improving IRINKA CHOCO struck the hindquarters of WAR TOKEN, with a further check to BACK EAR JACK. These dogs, along with CHALLENGER BALE, never recovered from these incidents, filling the last four placings. |
Race 11 | SHIRLEY VETERINARY CENTRE STAKES - C5 - 520 | Down the back straight the second favourite DR ABERBATHY ran wide, taking WORTHY ALLEGRO with him. These dogs finished amongst the tail enders. |
Race 12 | GURDLER SAND SUPPLIES SPRINT - C5 - 295 | GILBERT BALE drifted to last soon after jumping from the boxes, finishing amongst the tail enders. In the entrace to the first corner BURST AWAY was tightened between dogs, settling last never improving in the running. Soon after this incident CORDU BALE tightened LIGHTNING LIGHT and the favourite SPOTTED BALE. Both dogs finished strongly in the straight for third and fourth respectively, with CORDU BALE finishing near the rear. |
