Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine The Judicial Chairman, in terms of Rule 305, declared race 10 to be a 'No race' after a lure malfunction in the early stages of the running. The complete lure arm fell onto the track in front of the leading greyhound, causing that dog to pull up and the field to be disrupted. The 2 finalists for the NZ Derby were drawn by ballot, under the control of the Judicial Chairman. A preliminary cause of the malfunction was that a pin holding the lure arm had sheared off.
