Race 1 COCA-COLA DASH - C1 - 318 Osbourne sped away from the field in the early running and held strongly. Rawhiti Rogue crossed after the jump - impeding Winsome Dough badly and then continued on towards the rail, coming into contact with Awesome Tyler and Farmer John as those dogs positioned themselves coming off the rail. Awesome Tyler later checked off the back of Cardinia Kev.Rawhiti Rogue kept his forward momentum and finished second, and Farmer John recovered for third. No 4 Dr Ricardi (D Van Meeuwen). Under suspension.
Race 2 THE OASIS BAR DASH - C2 - 318 Poetical jumped the best and was pursued by Waitak Attack to the finish line. The favourite, Wild Whiz, finished on strongly after dwelling slightly at the start. Oh My Gosh and Little Toot were in shoulder to shoulder contact after the jump - Oh My Gosh ran at rear throughout.
Race 3 CATERING PROFESSIONALS STAKES - C1 - 527 Ollymacron was the early leader, running wide down the back straight and holding until the home straight entrance where the favourite Shiraz Royale surged away and held well to the line. Bozo Fulton was slow to start and on recovering to midfield was buffeted and did not feature further. No 3 Just The Don (JB Hastie). Gained start in race 10.
Race 4 'BLACK CAPS' STAKES - C1 - 527 Race clear. No 4 Sharp Strike (McIntyre/Flowers). Rule 259 - spiked stifle. Stand down 5 days to 15.02.04. Dog presented. VC held. No 5 Eiffel Ami (GC Farrell). Gained start in race 9. No 6 Flash Mistress (JB Hastie). Rule 259 - soreness in right triceps. Stand down 10 days to 22.02.04. VC held.
Race 5 EGH INTERNET GREYHOUNDS SPRINT - C3 - 318 Nigella Bale and Never Time disputed the pace until the straight entrance where Winsome Hope took over and held to the winning post. Speed Signal finished running on for second. Rawhiti Lad ranged wide at the first bend and stayed wide throughout. Bahama Bale turned outwards immediately after the jump and impeded the outer dogs, Rawhiti Lad and Vegie Bill. Rawhiti Lad, when himself moving wide, caused further problems for Vegie Bill by blocking his path. LATE SCRATCHING No 2 Turf Muncher (B & L Craik). Rule 259 - injury to right fore leg. Stand down 30 days to 13.03.04. VC held. No 5 Shar Nazir ( B & L Craik). Rule 259 - muscular shoulder injury. Stand down 10 days to 21.02.04. VC held. .
Race 6 STREETS ICE CREAM STAKES - C1/2 - 527 The favourite Ballibeast, despite dwelling slightly at the start, conceding several lengths, recovered quickly and exiting the first bend took the lead - setting a margin of several lengths and maintaining the pace until the final strides when Waitak Central and Kiwi Prince lunged at the leader and Waitak Central took a close decision.
Race 7 JIMBO'S PETFOOD STAKES - C3/4 - 527 Dudley Dersley was the early leader - pursued closely by World Priority who made inroads into the leader's margin, but could not best him at the finish. Orana City carted Top Allegro wide at the first bend, Orana City recovering well to position third in the running and hold to the line.
Race 8 TINT A CAR DASH - C4/5 - 318 Race started 5 minutes late due to harness false start. Macain was pursued by Arnies First into the straight but could not hold, Arnies First prevailing in the last strides. Let Me was buffeted when the field bunched tightly behind the two leaders, and was forced inwards, then came into sharp contact with the rail, rearing upwards somewhat and being out of contention from that point. No 5 Rumpole (G Calverley). Rule 259 - injury to left tarsus. Stand down 7 days to 17.02.04. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 9 GOBIS CLUB BONUS SERIES #1 - HEAT 1 - RESq - 527 Heat 1 Graehsar's Boy started the quickest and took field into first bend, holding until headed by Keenjackaroo who then held to the line. Eiffel Ami, the reserve from box 8, crossed as the dogs converged into the first bend and was in shoulder contact with Kiwi Fire, that dog having moved out from the rail . The same dogs were in contact further on in the running and neither featured in the finish. One of the favoured runners, Mean Tyler, dropped to the back in the early running and took no real part in the running. A veterinary examination post race revealed that this dog had been injured and was subject to an stand down. No 8 Easter Man (K Lomas). Rule 329 - pad injury, injured during running of race at Waikato & District meeting on 10.02.04. Stand down 10 days to 19.02.04. VC held. No 4 Mean Tyler (DD Schofield). Rule 329 - hind left pad degloved. Stand down 10 days to 22.02.04. VC held.
Race 10 GOBIS CLUB BONUS SERIES #1 - HEAT 2 - RESq - 527 Heat 1 Astro Doll led narowly into the first bend and despite a late challenge and surge at the line by Keen Precision, was able to survive for a nose decision. Sunset Coast moved over towards the rail after jumping from box 7 and ran alongside Just The Don, the reserve from box 4, until Lumos Obliviate came back sharply from the bunch and checked Sunset Coast. Lumos Obliviate trailed home with Tempest Reign, that dog also having been checked out of contention. No 4 Ina Tizzy (GC Farrell). Rule 259 - cystitus. Stand down 10 days to 20.02.04. VC held.
