Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer M.Boyd . Fined $ 30-00 under Rule 135 (1) after a Greyhound escaped from his vehicle.
HUKA JAZZ . Trainer P.Denbee. Ordered to Trial under Rule 179 before next Tote start. Trainer has since advised that HUKA JAZZ will not be persevered with as a racing dog.

Race 1	CLARKS SEAFOOD & DELI - C1h - 505	PRINCE ZIDANE and EMERALD FOREST were scratched due to injury and both were presented and stood down for 7 days. VAL'S BABE landed awkwardly over the second jump and fell but was not injured. CHEROKEE SQUAW got onto the heels of JUSTA HUSTLER on the first corner, moved out and made contact with ROTARY TALENT. During this race, a Greyhound escaped from the vehicle of Trainer M.Boyd and ran loose in the public area. As a result, M.Boyd was fined $ 30-00 under Rule 135 (1). PRINCE ZIDANE. Trainer D.Amundsen. Rule 259. Suffering from a toe injury. Presented and stood down for 7 days to 17.02.04. EMERALD FOREST. Trainer M.Boyd. Rule 259. Suffering from a shoulder injury. Presented and stood down for 7 days to 17.02.04.
Race 2	BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS WGTN - C0 - 297	TINKAMORE, SABRE SPIRIT and the favourite LADY PANTHERELLA were very slow away and lost several lengths The first starter DESIGN A SPOT ran very wide throughout and covered extra ground. TWIST DEE CAPP received a slight knock on the first corner and went quickly back to the rear and never recovered.
Race 3	OXFORD HOTEL LEVIN FINAL - C0f - 297	RUM DANCER and SISTER STAMP jostled for some distance in the race to the first corner and they eventually dropped back, losing several lengths. FRYERS FLYER suffered from a toe injury and was stood down for 7 days. FRYERS FLYER. Trainer A.Fryer. Rule 329. Injured a toe and stood down for 7 days to 19.02.04.
Race 4	PETER SINCLAIR PHOTOS - C1 - 505	OH ITALIA was scratched due to kennel cough and was stood down for 14 days JOHNNY RAY was scratched Ex Wellington on 12.02.04. UNO IMA REBEL was scratched and started in Race five. LIKA CRUISE moved in when racing to the first corner and checked SHAWNEE BRAVE who dropped back to last. He then recovered well to run on for 2nd placing. OH ITALIA. Trainer C.French. Rule 259. Suffering from kennel cough and stood down for 14 days to 25.02.04. JOHNNY RAY. Trainer Caffell / Jackson. Ex Wellington on 12.02.04. UNO IMA REBEL. Trainer G.Atwood. Started in Race 5.
Race 5	ALBION TAVERN SHANNON - C1 - 505	YOUNG REBEL was scratched and started in race ten. MINTIE MOMENT and UNO IMA REBEL collided on the first corner and lost momentum for a few strides. Soon after, NO MORE BLONDES ran onto the heels of RUNNING SPEED and they both drifted back a few lengths. YOUNG REBEL. Trainer B.Atwood. Started in Race 10.
Race 6	AUSSIE MEATS FINAL - C1f - 297	ALI PHOENIX was very slow away and lost all chance of a placing. BOLD GYPSY and LADY PETITE jostled together for several strides in the race to the first corner and then ran wide on the bend and lost all chance.
Race 7	AWAPUNI HOTEL - C1 - 297	SECRET PRINCE was scratched due to a torn nail, was presented and stood down for 7 days. HUKA JAZZ ran out in the back straight after starting from box three and this resulted in the favourite LOTUS DOLL being jostled and pushed wide. They both lost all chance as a result. HUKA JAZZ has shown this tendancy to run out and cause interferance several times and so the dog was ordered to Trial under Rule 179 before next accepting at a tote meeting. The Trainer then advised the Stewards that he would not continue with the dog as a racing proposition. SECRET PRINCE. Trainer A.Dugancich. Rule 259. Suffering from a torn nail. Presented and stood down for 7 days to 19.02.04. HUKA JAZZ. Trainer P.Denbee. Rule 179. To trial but Trainer has advised that the dog is now retired.
Race 8	MANAWATU SECURITY SERVICES FINAL - C0f - 505	GO FAITH GO moved out and UNO BILLY JOE moved in soon after the start and this resulted in tightening to PHAEDRA, SANTOFT TIGER and DUSTY NERO who were drawn in between.
Race 9	KIA TOA RUGBY CLUB - C1 - 297	DONNA'S SECRET was scratched due to being in season. BUSTER KEATON moved in on the first corner and tightened NORSE STAR who fell heavily and suffered a fatal neck injury. Soon after ENROLLMENT was pushed into the rail and dropped back several places. He was vetted and cleared of any injuries at that time. DONNA'S SECRET. Trainer H.Little. Rule 258 (3). In season and stood down for 30 days to 11.03.04. NORSE STAR. Trainer R.McPhee. Suffered a fatal neck injury in a fall.
Race 10	SUPERIOR G/H KIBBLE FINAL - C1f - 505	TORAH BALE was scratched due a muscle injury. YOUNG REBEL was checked and fell on the first corner and MAN FROM UNCLE and KIWI MANA were brought down. CAN CANDY CAPP and FUNNY FEELING were badly hindered in the incident. KIWI MANA was uninjured. YOUNG REBEL suffered a gracilus muscle injury and was stood down for 14 days. MAN FROM UNCLE suffered a fractured hock and was euthanased. TORAH BALE. Trainer S.Gommans. Rule 259. Suffering from a back muscle injury. Stood down for 14 days to 24.02.04. MAN FROM UNCLE. Trainer T.McCracken. Suffered a broken hock and humanely put down. YOUNG REBEL. Trainer B.Atwood. Rule 329. Suffered a gracilus muscle injury and stood down for 14 days to 27.02.04.
Race 11	MANWATU SOUND SERVICE - C2 - 505	The favourite GOZO LINA was checked on the first corner when GOLDEN THORPEDO moved in towards the rail. GOZO LINA was unbalanced, ran out and pushed FRIENDLY PRINCE and KOJAZZ wide on the track. They never recovered and filled the last three places.
Race 12	WANGANUI CAR CENTRE - C1/2 - 297	RALPH and BRON ROMA were nominated for swabbing but this was not carried out as the vet was busy attending to injured dogs. The favourite RALPH was the slowest away and lost any chance of a placing.
