Judicial report: Weather: Fine Mr.T.Noomara was found to be in breach of Rule 163 by betting while working as the Judge and he was removed from that position under Rule 129.
Trainer Mr J.Cole admitted a breach of Rule 134 (10) ( C ) for using offensive language and was fined $ 300-00.
Trainer W.T.Hodgson was fined $ 20-00 under Rule 135 (1) for allowing a dog to run loose.
An inquiry was opened and adjourned into an allegation that the Lure Driver, Mr R.Udy and the Track Caretaker Mr T.McCracken may have conducted themselves improperly in the cafeteria during the meeting. They have been advised that they will be charged under Rule 134 (10) ( C ) at a time to be advised.

Race 1	ANDERSON'S FOR MEN STAKES - C2 - 520	ARANUI JAZZ was scratched Ex Manawatu on 27.01.04. EMPHATIC JEWEL was scratched due to an injury. TIGER EYES and TUSCANY BALE came together and jostled for several strides soon after the start. ARANUI JAZZ. Trainer M.Boyd. Ex Manawatu on 27.01.04. EMPHATIC JEWEL. Trainer N.Udy. Rule 259. Suffering from a wrist injury and stood down for 10 days to 06.02.04.
Race 2	DOUBLE 'S' MOTORDROME STAKES FINAL - C1f - 520	CORUBA STORM moved in on the first corner and checked BUSTER O'RILEY who moved out and interfered with JO JO SAM, MINNIE'S LADY and GIMME ATTITUDE. All four dogs then ran very wide and lost all chance.
Race 3	RUSH HIRE SPRINT - C2 - 305	Prior to the start of this race, it was brought to the attention of the Stipendiary Steward that the Judge was placing a bet or bets in contravention of Rule 163 and when this was confirmed, he was removed from office under Rule 129. The Judge had been warned by the Stipendiary Steward about betting at a recent meeting. A letter on this matter will be forwarded to the Club under separate cover. A stand in Judge was quickly appointed and the meeting proceeded on schedule. TIME PAYMENT was scratched due to muscle injuries. SARKAMORE moved in soon after the start and jostled CHALKE'S HONCHO, SHIRAZ VINE and HURRICANE FOG for a few strides. YOUNG REBEL moved in on the first corner and checked HURRICANE FOG who lost several lengths. SHIRAZ VINE and BROOKES GEM were also checked and lost some ground. TIME PAYMENT. Trainer B.Wate. Rule 259. Has a sesamoid injury and stood down for 10 days to 06.02.04.
Race 4	WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES - C1d - 755	HEYOKA TESS was scratched due to a hip injury. MONTOYA DUSTY was scratched due to being in season. The favourite CLISTON BONNIE was checked on the first corner and went from handy, back to near the rear. She then recovered well to win the race. TERRIFIC TEDDY checked off the heels of POWDER CAPP on the second bend and lost ground. HEYOKA TESS. Trainer S.Mann. Rule 259. Has a hip injury and stood down for 30 days to 26.02.04. MONTOYA DUSTY. Trainer S.Gardner. Rule 258 (3) In season and stood down for 30 days to 26.02.04.
Race 5	ELITE CATERING DASH - C2 - 305	ELLE'S ROCKET, TEDDY TYLER and JODAMAN jostled together soon after the start and settled at the rear. J.Cole was reported to have used offensive language in the catching area after the race and was charged under Rule 134 (10) ( C ) . He elected to admit the charge and was fined $ 300-00.
Race 6	HEADS ROAD VETERINARY SERVICES STAKES - C4/5 - 520	WHISKEY PETE was a late scratching at kenneling time when found to be suffering from a toe injury. One of the better supported runners HOT TREASURE was checked twice during the race and finished in last place. WHISKY PETE. Trainer J.McInerney. Late scratching. Rule 259. Has a toe injury and stood down for 10 days to 07.02.04.
Race 7	HOUSE OF TRAVEL SPRINT - C3 - 305	CRUZMORE ran in from the start and jostled OH MY GOSH, STYLISH DUDE, DOVE L'AMORE and INSIST for some distance and they lost several lengths. At the same time RAWHITI LAD ran out and forced WEE SILVER MAN wide on the track.
Race 8	GOBIS CLUB BONUS SERIES 2 FINAL - RESf - 520	SUNSET COAST ran in from the start and checked LUMINOSO, GEOFFREY CRAYON and SHAVE THE SHEEP and they settled at the rear and stayed well back.
Race 9	METEOR OFFICE PRODUCTS INTERMEDIATE STAKES - C2/3 - 520	GRAESHAR'S BOY was a Club scratching after the Secretary / Manager misinterpreted the instructions from the Trainer of the dog. SEASPRAY PADERO was scratched due to an injury. SHAWNEE BRAVE checked off the heels of BANKSIDE BABE on the first corner and ran very wide. BURN THE PEG checked off the heels of BUSTING OUT on the last bend and lost momentum when improving. SHAWNEE BRAVE pushed out sharply on the home turn and checked BAKSIDE BABE and WORLD PRIORITY who both lost ground. One of the favourites HOMEBUSH BRIAN was handy to the home turn but was then checked and dropped out to finish last. GRAESHAR'S BOY. Trainer G.Calverley. Club scratching. SEASPRAY PADERO. Trainer D.Garrett. Rule 259. Suffering from a leg injury and stood down for 10 days to 06.02.04.
Race 10	DISPLAY ASSOCIATES SPRINT - C4/5 - 305	There was jostling between LIGHTNING LIGHT, BUBBA'S HAND, DIPPENAAR, BLACK ALLEGRO and BRADANCAS in the run to the first corner and they settled well back. Trainer W.T.Hodgson was fined $ 20-00 after DIPPENAAR escaped from the kennels area prior to the race.
