| Race 1 | LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C2d - 630 | Seven starters. Gold Jed was left stranded at the start, conceding many lengths as he dipped slightly on jumping - he trailed the field until the final straight where he noticeably made late ground to finish midfield. Dr Kingsley led from the first bend and until the final straight where the favourite Orana City took control and ran away to win with ease. Calm Abiding ran on late for second. No 5 Hostile Gesture (GA Lawrence). Rule 259 - infected toe cut. Stand down 5 days to 19.01.04. Dog presented. VC held. No 6 Wyuna Red Leg ( D Van Meeuwen). Rule 259 - injured lower back. Stand down 10 days to 24.01.04. VC held. |
| Race 2 | TE AWAMUTU SELF STORAGE DASH - C1 - 375 | Hit A Homer powered away to the lead after the jump and held, moving away at the line, to win by 5 lengths. The field behind the two leaders bunched tightly at the first bend, Winsome Dough and Faithful Mittens being stifled in their progress at that point. Bella Vichy made late ground for fourth. |
| Race 3 | CAMBRIDGE HURDLES - C1/2h - 457 | Hurdles. Even despatch. In run to first hurdle Song Of India and Aranuijazz moved ahead, with the favourite Chippewa Brave on their inner. Cherokee Squaw fell heavily at the third hurdle but scrambled back on her feet and finished at the tail of the field. Chippewa Brave took the lead from the third hurdle, and although baulking at the lure when closing in on it, stayed on his feet and maintained lead to line. The placings at the point in the race that the lure was within an unacceptable margin did not alter in the run to the line, and no greyhound seemed adversely affected. The greyhounds did not touch, pass or draw level with the lure. No 8 Time Code (M Earley). Rule 329 - diarrhea. Stand down 10 days to 24.01.04. VC held. |
| Race 4 | PAPAMOA TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 457 | Race clear. No 6 Upahut Loony (DT Meates). Rule 229 - scratched with valid reason. Nil stand down period. |
| Race 5 | IMPROVERS FINAL - C1 - 457 | The favourite Mean Tyler, from box 1, was quickly to the front and held with ease to record a margin in excess of 5 lengths. Eiffel Ami was slow to start, conceding the field ground and although making late ground, finished back. No 7 Go Wild Chrissy (FD Farmer). Rule 259. Greyhound now deceased. . |
| Race 6 | CLUB HOUSE CAFE & SPORTS BAR STAKES - C4/5 - 457 | Smart Jack was away on equal terms with the field then lagged back, ranged and stayed wide throughout,and finished at rear. A veterinary check revealed a possible hock fracture and the dog was subject of a stand down. No 5 Smart Jack (M Hawkins). Rule 329. Probable hock fracture . Stand down 30 days. VC held. |

| Race 8 | FOND FOODS STAKES - C1 - 457 | Aranui Tui was the leader early then went back through the field, taking out Bozo Fulton and Justa Toff, Justa Toff being placed towards the rear at that point. I'm Wishing was also adversely affected when Aranui Tui went back. No 6 Upahut Axion (DT Meates). Rule 229 - scratched with valid reason. Nil stand down period. |
| Race 9 | CAMBRIDGE TAB DASH - C3 - 375 | Winsome Hope, a favoured runner, started on terms with the field, then as bunching occurred at the first bend was checked to the rear - from where she moved forward through field to recover some ground, but faded in straight and came home towards the rear. |
| Race 10 | T.A.B. PUMP & AUTOMOTIVE STAKES - C2 - 457 | Top Drawer, the reserve from box 4, was slow to start and trailed field entire journey. Ballibeast and Flash Shooter negated each others chances when running strongly shoulder to shoulder towards the bend. Top Allegro claimed the pace maker, Tap To It, in the final strides. Luminoso ran on well late for third. No 4 Splicklez (K Braithwaite). Gained start in race 1. |
