Weather:
Track: Good Firm
Scales: Correct at all weights
Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Fine An enquiry was held into the No Race delared in Race 11. A charge of negligence under Rule 135.1 was lodged against the Robert and Williams Cairns, the handlers of Homebush Bill and Boy Racer (trained by John McInerney) on the grounds that the dogs raced in the wrong racing colours ( Homebush Bill raced in the 5 rug and Boy Racer in the 3 rug). The Judicial Committee dismissed the charge on the grounds that the responsibility for ensuring the dogs were checked, identified and the correct rug numbers issued rested with the Kennel Stewards under Rule 164.5 and they were aware of their obligations in this respect. The judicial meeting was adjourned, and the matter was referred to the Executive of the NZGRA by the Stipendiary Steward with a request that a charge under Rule 135.1 of negligence be made against the Southland Greyhound Racing Club and the kennel stewards (Jean Anderson, Elizabeth Adams, Beverley Garthwaite, Stephanie Garthwaite and Ricky Turner) and that an investigation be convened into the incident and the incorrect kenneling incident identified in Race 3.
