AWESOME PAUL moved in on the first corner after drawing box eight and there was a chain reaction of tightening with SNOW BIRD, YALLAH ROSE, ONSLOW BALE, BLACK ALLEGRO and TESSA'S DELIGHT all suffering and losing ground. ONSLOW BALE and TESSA'S DELIGHT came together on the bend and TESSA'S DELIGHT was checked, ran very wide and finished in last place. GOLD AMORE. Trainer B & L Craik. Rule 259. | Race 6 | RODEWALD HART BROWN RAILWAY SPRINT HEAT 2 - C5q - 318 Heat 1 | LET ME, IOMAN and FASHION VICTIM were the first three into the first corner but then came together, jostled and checked losing several lenghts and all chance. They filled the last three places at the finish. |
| Race 7 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C2/3 - 527 | KEEN REWARD was scratched due to suffering from scours and an elevated temperature. MEGA BYTES was 30 minutes late being scratched after gaining a start in race two from the reserves list and the Secretary initially did not realize that the dog was in the field for this race. The T.A.B were reluctant to place the reserve dog HOT DISCOVERY back into the field at that stage but the Secretary was also not able to contact the Trainer Mr B.Hughes. Taking into account all the circumstances, no charges were preferred on this occasion but the Secretary was reminded of her obligations to check the fields with care. One of the favourites BOWING FLYER was slow away and settled in last place. He then had to check over the heels of BLACK HONDA on the first turn but made ground well from there to finish not far from the placegetters. KIWI PRINCE was held up for a few strides behind MAC WHISKY on the home turn and then finished on for fourth place when clear. KEEN REWARD. Trainer R.O'Regan. Rule 259.
