RUBY HALL was checked back to the rear of the main group in the race to the first corner. The winner ASTRO NERONE was selected as a swab dog but with the kennel staff busy with late kennelling, the message never got through and the dog was released without a sample being taken. |
| Race 4 | AUSSIE MEATS LEVIN - C0 - 297 | The favourite PUZZLING KNIGHT was the slowest away, started to make up some ground but was checked on the first corner when KEDO'S LINDY LOU and ARANUI SUNRISE ran out and that finished its chance of a placing. |
| Race 5 | AWAPUNI LIQUORLAND - C0 - 505 | GOLD ORDER settled at the rear and could not keep up with the others and finished several lengths last. |
| Race 6 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS WGTN - C0 - 297 | RUBEN HALL began very awkwardly and lost several lengths. He made up some ground for sixth place. ARDISHAH moved out at the start and crowded PITSTOCK JAZZ, SABRE SPIRIT and BUSTER KEATON for a few strides. Racing into the first corner, HUKA JAZZ moved out and checked ARDISHAH, SABRE SPIRIT and DISSIPATE who all lost ground. SABRE SPIRIT suffered from toe injuries and will stand down for 30 days. WHEELCHAIR BILL suffered from toe lacerations which may have occurred in the boxes. | Race 10 | COMMITTEE STAKES - C1 - 297 | EMOYENI was scratched when found to be in season and she will stand down for thirty days. One of the favourites PAWS A MOMENT was slow away and raced well back throughout. DOCTOR FLYNT moved in on the first corner forcing KNIGHT NITE CAPP onto BALLYSHANNON who was checked back to last and never recovered. EMOYENI. Trainer G.Darby. Rule 258 (3). | Race 11 | MANAWATU SECURITY SERVICES - C1 - 505 | WON'T BE DENIED was scratched Ex Wellington on 28.11.03. GINGER TYLER checked off the heels of ARANUI JAZZ on the first corner and ran wide. Entering the back straight, GINGER TYLER faltered and dropped out quickly to last and stayed there. He was examined by the vet who could find nothing amiss at the time. TURBO JAZZ was galloped on by NO MORE BLONDES on the first bend, dropped back to near the rear and failed to improve much. The vet was unable to detect any injuries at the time of examination. | Race 12 | RAPIDVITE NUTRIENTS STAKES - C1 - 505 | GOLDEN KART was slow away and settled in last place. TOKEN ANSWER ran out on the first turn, was struck from behind by UPAHUT LOONY and fell. ENROLLMENT and UPAHUT LOONY were badly checked in the incident and lost all chance. TOKEN ANSWER suffered a gracilus muscle injury in the fall and will spell for 7 days. TOKEN ANSWER. | Race 14 | DB BREWERIES STAKES - C3 - 505 | SHE SHEPHERD came into contact with TYRONE'S STAR on the first turn, became off balance and ran out forcing EDGAR JAY very wide on the bend. The incident ruined the chances of SHE SHEPHERD and EDGAR JAY as they went back to the rear. |
