Health and Safety comment:

Judicial report: Weather: Raining Following the running of race 8, a 770m distance race, a charge was laid under Rule 322.1(a) by the Stipendiary Steward against the greyhound Aqua Van (J.R.Goode) that the dog fought during the race. Trainer J.R.Goode pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that the greyhound turned and ran outwards on to Fly Bye Angel on the final turn. After hearing evidence and viewing the video the Judicial Committee noted that the lead dog Fly Bye Angel had drifted when losing sight of the lure and that Aqua Van had also lost sight of the lure. In the mitigating circumstances the Committee resolved to request that the greyhound Aqua Van be requested to undertake a satisfactory trial in accordance with Rule 179.1 before starting again. The Stipendiary Steward further requested that the club immediately take steps to ensure that the lure driving was of an acceptable standard prior to the next meeting.
