| Race 2 | RUGBY WORLD CUP NEWCOMER STAKES - C0 - 520 | FIDO DIDO jumped well and was handy on the first corner but then eased up and went back to last. It was suspected that the dog had failed to persue but the vets inspection revealed that he had suffered from skinned pads and a 5 day stand down was imposed. MELANTHA BALE raced in mid-field but pulled up on the home turn and failed to finish. The Trainers representative elected to admit that there had been a breach of Rule 322 (1) (b) and MELANTHA BALE was stood down for one month and will be required to trial before its next Totalisator start. UNO I KNOW was scratched due to toe nail injuries and was presented and stood down for 5 days. BEDAZZLED JEWEL and HOMEBUSH GEORGE were slow away and then BEDAZZLED JEWEL ran onto the heels of another runner on the first corner and lost several lengths.
