Incident Reports
Race Number | Race Name | Incident Report |

Race 1 | OASIS BAR & GRILL MAIDEN FINAL - C0f - 527 | Token Sniper showed early speed to take field through early stages with Astro Doll in close pursuit. Travelling down the back straight Astro Doll took over the lead and held until the favourite, Truant, capped off a rails run, and early contact with Supreme Bet leaving the first bend, by ranging up to Astro Doll at the entrance to the home straight, and running away for the win. Supreme Bet was in shoulder contact with Jessica's Gamble at the jump, and then within a few strides Jessica's Gamble stumbled and had to scramble to regain momentum - from that point he trailed field and finished towards the rear. |
Race 2 | OUR LOCAL C1 SPRINT FINAL - C1f - 318 | Sharna's Lad sprinted away from the jump, establishing and holding a winning margin to the line.Dark Knight shouldered Go Wild Chrissy immediately on jumping from the boxes, and with Storm Edition moving in simultaneously, Go Wild Chrissy was stifled in her go forward movement for several strides. Dark Knight moved away after the contact and through field for second, whilst Go Wild Chrissy made ground well for third. |
Race 3 | 10P NOSH STAKES - C1 - 527 | Sunset Coast stepped clear of the tightening at the first bend to hold a winning margin in excess of 8 lengths at the line.Keenjackaroo, exiting from box 3 and racing close to the rail entering the first bend, flared sharply out and came into contact with BigBad Ben, that dog then moving out as well and guiding the favourite, Ewan Jake almost out to the fence. This put BigBad Ben and Ewan Jake out of contention. |
Race 4 | CATERING PROFESSIONALS STAKES - C1 - 527 | Bitter Sammy sped away from the jump, leaving the field in his wake with an impressive run to the line. Hostile Deed moved out forcibly after the jump from box 3, and impeded Lickem Luke, Thrilling Heidi and Oxey as they bunched tightly as he moved across them. Then as the field entered the bend Hostile Deed came back towards the rail where he struck Thrilling Heidi, that dog falling after the impact and impeding Oxey, effectively both dogs being out of the race from that point. A post race veterinary examination found Thrilling Heidi to have been injured and a stand down period was imposed. No 5 Thrilling Heidi (B & L Craik). Rule 329 - injured during running - sore left triceps. Stand down 5 days to 20.10.03. VC held. |
Race 5 | BELLBIRD ARMS DASH - C1 - 318 | Tempest Reign won the race for the intial lead with Parra Power trailing on the inner. Exiting the bend towards the home straight the two leaders came together, shoulder to shoulder for several strides before Parra Power drove away for a six length margin at the winning post. During the general tightening of the field at the first bend, Wee Silver Star, the favourite, racing at the rear, was blocked and impeded in her run when looking to improve forward. No 1 Shar Nazir ( B& L Craik). Rule 259 - swollen and infected wound on left hind leg. Stand down 5 days to 19.10.03. VC held. |
Race 6 | STREETS ICE-CREAM STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | Idol Appeal was swiftly to the front and held without any significant challenge from that point. As the field moved into the first bend, Dr Bertram came sharply out from a position one off the rail, - shouldered into Light Of Smile, went across the face of Masonry and further out onto Luminoso - all such dogs being disadvantaged in their progress forward. |
Race 7 | CAROL'S TAB STAKES - C1/2 - 527 | Kiwi Prince improved his position throughout the race to lead the field into the straight - holding off a spirited finish down the outer by Mean Tyler. Our Madge, midfield when running through the first bend was shouldered in the rear by Flash Shooter coming off the rail behind her - Our Madge out onto Spade Time - Our Madge out of further contention from that point. |
Race 8 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS SPRINT FEATURE - C2 - 318 | Cawbourne Jack ran quickly to the front and held lead to the line. Bahama Bale slow from jump but on recovering made ground steadily and sufficiently so to feature in a close decision for third. Marshall Bale was positioned midfield in the early stages and then began to drift - came off rail then after contact with Vegie Bill fell heavily. Marshall Bale did get up and finish the race, a distance back, and was cleared of injury at a post race veterinary examination. |
Race 9 | BELLBIRD ARMS DASH - C3 - 318 | Rumpole moved towards the rail after the jump and then as field in front of him drifted out, moved along rail and into lead entering the straight where he kicked away strongly to win decisively, and at outside odds. Rawhiti Lad, wide out on the track at the bottom of the straight, surged strongly down the outer for third. The favourite, Zosha, was checked whilst at the back of the field in the early running and failed to improve from there. |
Race 10 | THE 'SHIELD' HOLDERS STAKES - C4/5 - 527 | Paddy Power used the inside draw to best advantage when he sped away from the field in the early running, establishing a margin which at the line was in excess of 7 lengths. Some Joe put in an eye catching pursuit over the final stages, having moved from the rear into the back straight along the rail and then down the home straight in his endeavour to win. |
Race 11 | RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C3 - 527 | There was a tightening of dogs at the first bend which saw Busting Out jostled and Galatasaray flaring wide to avoid the problems. The favourite, Gold Jed, from box 8, stayed wide and remained clear of the tigthening on his inner, then ranged around field down the back straight to be in front entering the home straight, after gathering in the pacemaker for the journey to that stage, Dot Matrix, and then holding to the line. |
Race 12 | THE MAD BUTCHER DASH - C4/5 - 318 | My Toby, after fiercely disputing the lead with Tempest Hove, took control and surged on for the win. Macain, having been somewhat impeded at the jump when Tempest Hove moved out from the inside draw, was still able to feature in the finish with the third placing. |
