GO FAITH GO ran out at the start and checked NO MORE BLONDES and TOKEN ANSWER who lost a little ground. GO FAITH GO then moved out on the first corner and forced TOKEN ANSWER and LEWISTON wide on the bend. TOKEN ANSWER recovered to win but LEWISTON trailed the field throughout and finished in last place. GIMME ATTITUDE. Trainer B.Cole. Rule 259. Suffering from an infected cut to a dew claw. | Race 2 | DOUBLE 'S' MOTORDROME SPRINT - C1 - 305 | PIXAR STAR was scratched due to suffering from an injury between the toes. GO MOJO and DIDDY CEE YOU were slow to begin and settled well back. OUTER HERE jumped well but began to drop back on the first corner and finished several lengths last. A vets inspection revealed that OUTER HERE had suffered a gracilus muscle injury and a 30 day stand down was ordered. BLUE CODA checked off the heels of GO MOJO on the bend and then came in contact with DIDDY CEE YOU and they jostled for several strides and eventually finished well back. PIXAR STAR. | Race 3 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS DASH - C1 - 305 | ELLE'S ROCKET and DARK BLADE were slow to jump and settled well back. EMOYENI, DARK BLADE and WINSOME HA HA collided on the bend and lost ground with WINSOME HA HA the worst affected. She dropped out to finish in last place. |

| Race 8 | WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES STAKES - C2 - 520 | EMPHATIC JEWEL was scratched due to a pad injury. One of the favourites GAZZA'S BEAUTY lost its footing in the very slushy conditions on the first turn and almost fell. She went from a handy position back to near the rear and never recovered. EMPHATIC JEWEL. Trainer R.Udy. Rule 259. Suffering from an injury to left hind main pad. Presented and stood down for 7 days to 11.10.03. |
| Race 9 | HEADS ROAD VETERINARY STAKES - C3/4 - 520 | CUTIE'S DIAMOND was denied a run when attempting a gap inside OUR LARRY when starting the final bend. He then made a run outside OUR LARRY and got up for second place |
| Race 10 | RUSH HIRE FAREWELL SPRINT - C3/4 - 305 | The start of this event was delayed by several minutes when the lure electrics malfunctioned in the run up. All the dogs were released out the back of the boxes except ALLEGRO EXPRESS who was released from the front and escaped down the track. He was recaptured and found fit to start. The lure was tested and the dogs reloaded except for SHEZ CHARM who's Trainer did not wish to start. The Trainer was questioned by the Stipendiary Steward who also inspected the dog and as the request was considered to be a valid one under the circumstances, SHEZ CHARM was declared a late scratching. SHEZ CHARM is highly strung and had become very uptight with the activity of the lure. The club will have the electrical system checked again before the next meeting. The race went off without further incident. SHEZ CHARM. Trainer W.T.Hodgson. Rule 257 (1). Valid reason accepted. No stand down imposed. |
