Judicial report: Weather: Fine Trainer S Wright was fined $100.00 in terms of Rule 269 when she presented the greyhound Rawhiti Rogue with a weight variance exceeding the approved margin ( down 1.6k.).

Race 1	DANNY O'KEEFE HURDLES - C1h - 527	Hurdles race. Bobbymite led Aranuijazz over the first hurdle, with Aranuijazz dipping and skewing sidewards towards the rail on landing - taking up a rails run when momentum regained. Bobbymite continued towards the second hurdle but balked momentarily on arrival then jumped on an angle towards the outer of the track and right into the path of Smokie. Smokie fell and was out of further contention, but did come home to finish. Time Code settled into the lead after the second hurdle and ran away for a convincing win. A post race veterinary examination cleared Smokie of injury. No 3 Heeza Zeal (CA Gough). Rule 259 - kennel cough. Stand down 10 days to 15.10.03. VC held. No 10 Proper Flame (G Bywater). (100K) Rule 254.
Race 2	SUDSRELLA LAUNDRY DASH - C0 - 318	The field was reduced to seven runners with the late scratching of Rawhiti Rogue.The favourite, Grasscutter Bob, was quickly away to take the lead until entering the bend where after contact with Poetical the favourite then ran with shoulder to shoulder contact with Jaydee's Dilemma as that dog came along the rail. Grasscutter Bon shifted out and began to drift, quickly moving back towards the rear of the field where he finished. LATE SCRATCHING No 2 Rawhiti Rogue (S Wright). Rule 269 - weight variance, down 1.6k.
Race 3	www.exposure.co.nz WEBSITE HOSTING DASH - C0 - 318	Teddy Tyler recovered from a slow start from the inside draw to move swiftly along the rail to take the lead into the straight, extending it slightly then being forced to hold off a determined challenge from Osbourne who closed on him right on the line but just failed to take the lead from the pacemaker.
Race 4	OASIS BAR & GRILL MAIDEN - HEAT 1 - C0q - 527 Heat 1	Astro View was one of the quickest to jump, showing up early with Ceramic going to the rail on her inner. Token Sniper then took over with Astro View in the trailing position - until the bottom of the straight where Astro View surged away for the win. The favourite Truant came with a late run for third. No 6 Flash Mistress (JB Hastie). Rule 259 - right shoulder muscle tear. Stand down 10 days to 16.10.03. VC held.
Race 5	OASIS BAR & GRILL MAIDEN - HEAT 2 - C0q - 527 Heat 1	Astro Doll was quickly to the front and ran on for a strong win. Bold Hove, seen to be crouching down on her paws in the box before jumping, became involved in an early tangle when she headed straight for the rail, with initial contact with Ebony Rain, then Jessica's Gamble and finally Miss Teddy Bear. Bold Hove had shifted out into the path of Miss Teddy Bear, with both dogs somewhat out of contention from that point. Miss Teddy Bear took a heavy tumble a few strides past the winning post, but suffered no injury.
Race 6	OUR LOCAL C1 SPRINT - HEAT 1 - C1q - 318 Heat 1	High Pockets sped away from the jump and won virtually unchallenged. The favourite Mega Who was positioned up just behind the leaders when the dogs around her tightened and she was jostled and buffeted by Retro Robbie causing her to drop back into the path of Ben Vegas - Ben Vegas in seeking to avoid Mega Who climbed forcibly over her back, pressing her back legs down on the track. Mega Who scrambled and stumbled to keep on her feet and limped home a distant last. A post race examination by the veterinary surgeon revealed that Mega Who had a fractured wrist, and was the subject of a lengthy stand down, with the prognosis that she will be unlikely to race again. No 2 Mega Who (D Mathews). Rule 329. Injured during race - fractured wrist. Stand down 30 days to 5.11.03 (unlikely to race again).
Race 7	OUR LOCAL C1 SPRINT - HEAT 2 - C1q - 318 Heat 1	Race clear.
Race 8	BELLBIRD ARMS STAKES - C1 - 527	The field bunched at the first bend, caused in part by Bigbad Ben crossing to the rail from box 7 -Ewan Jake emerged from the field to take a clear lead and hold to the line.
Race 9	OUR LOCAL C1 SPRINT - HEAT 3 - C1q - 318 Heat 1	Mavriki Enya was the leader for the early running, but on entering the straight Winsome Eels, who had raced wide to that point from box 8, straightened up and drove strongly down the track to take the win. Shar Nazir struck Mistress Honcho and sandwiched that dog up against Lickem Luke after the jump and then further on in the running Lickem Luke again came into contact with Mistress Honcho, causing her to skew sideways and begin a drift towards what ended as being a distant last at the finish line.
Race 10	OUR LOCAL C1 SPRINT - HEAT 4 - C1q - 318 Heat 1	Storm Edition recovered from a slow start to move along the rail to lead the field into the straight - then to surge away for a strong win. Ginger Tyler moved out from box 2 at the jump and bored into Oh My Man, putting that dog off stride and from where he moved out wider. Ginger Tyler continued forward and was in shoulder to shoulder contact with Sand Dancer as he pushed hard outwards onto that dog - neither of those two dogs featured in the finish, Ginger Tyler finishing towards the rear.
Race 11	MEADOWSET GRAPHICS STAKES - C2 - 527	Idol Apeal took the lead into the first bend and held off all challenges from that point until the line. Splicklez was checked at the rear of the field as the they swept through the bend into the back straight - did not recover any ground from the point.
Race 12	THE MAD BUTCHER DASH - C2 - 318	Lady Dolly was disadvantaged at the jump when sandwiched between the dogs on either side and her forward impetus was stifled. Marshall Bale was slow to jump but recovered quickly along the rail to midfield only to be blocked for running room by Tracey's Gem, that dog dropping back on the rail before moving out and into the path of Hot Discovery and Lady Dolly. Sue Van Gill was also adversely affected at this time.
Race 13	RACK 'N' ROLL VALLEY POOL DASH - C3 - 318	Brooklyn Ash was slow to start, conceding the field several lengths. Rawhiti Lad raced towards the back in the early stages, then whilst making a forward move checked of the back of Nigella Bale and fell heavily, tumbling over out towards the fence, and coming into contact with the rear legs of Miss Vegi Web on the way. Rawhiti Lad recovered his footing and finished the race. A post race veterinary examination cleared the greyhound of injury.
Race 14	TOP NOSH LTD STAKES - C3 - 527	Dallas Apollo featured with a sustained run from midfield down the back straight to move steadily away from the field to the line. Gold Jed was slow to jump, then moved wide, to be impeded in progress when firstly Melissa Bale and then Top Allegro moved wide after the inner dogs bunched. Gold Jed moved around the field and commenced a run that saw him go from the rear to be second at the finish line.
Race 15	RADIO PACIFIC DASH - C4/5 - 318	Sumability Bale was slow to start. Macain, in contrast, was swiftly out from the boxes to lead until the straight entrance, where he was headed briefly by Gold Amore until he surged again and in a close decision took the win.
Race 16	STREETS ICE-CREAM STAKES - C2 - 527	Raise Your Glass stayed clear of the general tightening and jostling as the field packed somewhat at the first bend and went on to hold well to the line. LATE SCRATCHING No 5 Tiger Eyes (DD Schofield). Rule 259 - cut left front toe, artery involved, en route to track in trailer. Dog presented, stand down 10 days to 16.10.03. VC held.
