Judicial report: Weather: Overcast After the running of race 4 a charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) was preferred against the greyhound Milanion when it was observed to turn its head in the run to the first bend. Trainer J.F.Allen elected to plead guilty to the charge and Milanion was stood down for 30 days up to and including 1/11/03. Required to complete a satisfactory trial under Rule 174 prior to racing again.

Race 1 AWESOME HAVOC AT STUD - C0 - 390 Best Hand (1) jumped well, was checked on the turn when Cecilia Luger (2) climbed into its back, rallied and flew home to win by a half neck from Whata Tex (6) which stormed home and led briefly short of the line. Go Suzy Go (5) led into the straight and fought on for 3rd. Turbo Jewel (7) was in a photo finish for the minor placings after challenging strongly for the lead down the straight. Autumn Ant (J.Beresford), Rule 258 in season. 30 days up to and including 30/10/03.
Race 2 www.dogtips.net.nz - C1 - 390 I've Got Flair (4) took the lead into the turn, put several lengths on the field, and held on to win by 1 and a half lengths from Jayden's Desire (1) which was handy throughout. Favourite High Fever (3) led out of the traps but only battled in the run home to finish 3rd.
Race 3 BOND CONTRACTS - C0 - 457 Trinity Zena (C.J.Keen) reweigh at 26.6kg, last raced on 24/7/03 at 24.9kg. Whata Fever (P.& B.Conner) left hind leg strapped under Rule 243.2 and papers marked accordingly. Whata Fever (4) was out fast, took the lead on the turn and ran on best to win from Potential Rogue (3). Jump Start (5) led out, went wide on the turn losing several lengths, and ran on again for 4th. Moana Nui (A.W.Furner), Rule 259 strained right thigh muscle. 10 days up to and including 11/10/03. Vet certificate supplied. Homebush Simon (J.T.McInerney), Rule 259 nailbed infection. 10 days up to and including 11/10/03. Vet certificate supplied.
Race 4 JUST FURNITURE - C1 - 457 Calm Dreamer (4) led early, was headed on the bend, and ran on again to win by 1 and a half lengths from Ebony Deluxe (7) which was always close up. Favourite Milanion (1) was out well, challenged for the lead on the turn and ran on for 3rd. In challenging for the lead to the turn Milanion was observed to turn its head on Calm Dreamer and not pursue the lure. A charge under Rule 322 (1) (b) was laid against the greyhound resulting in a stand down of 30 days. Milanion (J.F.Allen) Rule 322 (1) (b) 30 days up to and including 1/11/03.
Race 5 SOUTH DUNEDIN FURNITURE & BEDDING - C1 - 457 Favourite Knockabout Dougy (4) was slow to trap, up to take the lead on the bend and ran on well to win by 2 and a half lengths from Razor Robertson (1) which led out from the boxes to the turn.
Race 6 BOND ELECTRICAL - C1 - 390 Sugar Sweet (8) was out well, took the lead on the turn, and ran on best to win by 1 and a half lengths from Top Drawer (4) which ran on from midfield. Early leader Call The Tune (7) fought on for 3rd.
Race 7 DAVE ROBBIE PHOTOGRAPHER - C1 - 457 Homebush Bill (7) jumped quickly and took the lead on the bend, putting several lengths on the field, and held on to win by 1 length from Pareora Pearl (1) which led to the turn. Xavier's Star (2) was checked into the turn when clipped from the rea and was again checked short of the line when challenging and finished 5th. De Mayo (L.J.Waretini), Rule 258 in season. 30 days up to and including 29/10/03. Late scratching: Hot Red Mini (H.G.Cairns), Rule 259 diarrohea. 5 days up to and including 7/10/03. Dog presented and vet certificate supplied.
Race 8 TRIUMPHANT STAGS MAIDEN - C0 - 457 Bankside Night (2) was out well, took the lead in the run to the bend and held on to win from Wild View (6) which was slow early and ran on strongly. Bomber Belle (8) led out and fought on well for 3rd . Top Current (4) checked off the rear of Homebush Sally (1) and went back through the field to finish 7th.
Race 9 SGRC SUPPLIES - C1/2 - 390 Who's Quick (J.T.McInerney) reweigh at 30.3kg, last raced on 28/8/03 at 28.5kg. Favourite Walton Bale (3) led for most of the trip and bolted in by 4 and three-quarter lengths from Lazy Harry (1) which led out from the traps. Who's Quick (4) was very slow to jump and tailed off a distant last. A vet check after the race showed a deep muscle injury to the left hind leg and the dog was stood down for 7 days. Who's Quick (J.T.McInerney) Rule 329 muscle injury left hind leg. 7 days up to and including 9/10/03. Vet certificate supplied.
Race 10 JIM RODGERS PHOTOFINISH - C4/5 - 390 Classy Guy (M.& J.Jopson) left front paw strapped under Rule 243.2 and papers marked accordingly. November Bear (1) jumped quickly and led to the turn, but faded to finish 6th. Classy Guy (5) took the lead on the turn and held on to win by 1 length from the favourite Here Goes (8) which was slow early and ran on in the straight. Jimmy Job (J.T.McInerney), Rule 259 split left hind web. 10 days up to and including 11/10/03. Vet certificate supplied. Wag (J.T.McInerney), Rule 259 lacerated right front toe. 10 days up to and including 11/10/03. Vet certificate supplied.
