Race 1	MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375	Lord Sumarei, the reserve from box 1, slowed when knuckling over on left front foot after jump. Linnymay also went off stride after contacting back of Parra Power and went back, affecting the forward progress of Little Toot at that time.Lickem Luke, after disputing the early pace with Token Sniper, Opito Bay and Teddy Tyler, kicked clear and held strongly to the line. No 1 Jaydee's Dilemna (DL Annette). Rule 259 - viral infection. Stand down 5 days to 28.09.03. VC held.
Race 2	TAMAHERE STAKES - C0 - 457	Mintie Moment was the leader entering the bend, put a break on the field and held decisively for the win. The favourite Bazil's Token checked off the back of Just Hasty, as that dog moved off the rail in front of him rounding the bend into the straight - Bazil's Token then went to the back and in so doing impeded the path of No More Blondes - both those dogs finishing towards the rear.
Race 3	COMMITTEE DASH - C1 - 375	Monty Tyler, with Storm Edition in close attendance on his outer, took the field into the straight where on straightening he moved off the rail slightly and came into contact with Storm Edition. Storm Edition's back legs skewed sideways momentarily but he quickly recovered his stride, went to the front and held narrowly at the line. Bone Hillman, after being jostled at the jump, went to the back and finished a distant last.
Race 4	MANUKAU STAKES - C0 - 457	Muslie Man drew away from the field early and held a margin in excess of four lengths at the line. Ebony Rain finished strongly for second. Kiwi Mana, at rear after jump, flared wide during bend, raced at back, and only made ground in the final stages.
Race 5	MUDDY WATERS MERCER STAKES - C1 - 457	Dizzy Spell disputed the early lead with the favourite Keen Jackaroo until surging away and holding to win.Go Wild Chrissy conceded several lengths after being slow at the jump, quickly recovered on the inner and ran on well late for third placing.
Race 6	RODEWALD HART BROWN STAKES - C1 - 457	The favourite Mean Tyler was racing midfield rounding the bend when he was shouldered by Flash Shooter, then launching his winning run from the rear - Mean Tyler went towards the rear and out of contention. Flash Shooter kept momentum after impact and went strongly to the front mid-race and held. Kiwi Fire, from the inside draw, was positioned handy to the lead as the field went through the bend, then sought to move off the rail, reared slightly as he checked off the back of Basil Faulty - and was also pushed out by Spade Time. Kiwi Fire went back through the field, losing all chances.
Race 7	MOOSES CASINO & BAR STAKES - C3/4 - 457	Wolf Girl Jess conceded ground at the jump when slow to jump - recovered the field very quickly and made ground late down the straight to finish in behind the placegetters. Winsome Dixie dominated down the straight after taking early control. Winsome Guy finished running on for second. No 1 Poco King ( DD Schofield). Rule 259 - right hip soreness. Stand down 5 days to 1.10.03. VC held.
Race 8	RODEWALD HART BROWN DASH - C2 - 375	Winsome Leeds showed early speed from Cawbourne Jack on the inner until rounding the bend and into the straight where Cawbourne Jack sped away for a six length margin at the line. Vegie Bill was towards the rear as field entered bend, veered wide and in contact with Winsome Leeds - straightening after impact and running on for third.
Race 9	ALPHA HOTEL & RESTAURANT STAKES - C2 - 457	The favourite Dr Bertram was in shoulder to shoulder contact with Kevtan Shooter after the jump and then raced towards the back before faltering and sprawling heavily to the track. Dr Bertram did not finish the race but was cleared of injury at a post race veterinary examination. Kevtan Shooter was put out of contention when he was forced to vault the fallen dog. No 7 Lucky Ollie (W Steele). Rule 259 - swollen,fluid filled toe. Stand down 5 days to 1.10.03. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 10	LEAMINGTON DISTANCE - C1/2d - 747	Light Of Smile quickly put a break of five to six lenghts on the field before tiring, at the end of the final bend - Calm Abiding taking control and surging away for the win.
Race 11	WAIHOU TAVERN DASH - C3/4 - 375	Winsome Hope flashed from the boxes and held the lead in dispute with Geechie Lobo - Geechie Lobo taking over at the bottom of the straight and remained in control to the line. Rawhiti Lad, from box 8, stayed wide after the jump, veered extra wide and by straight entrance was almost at the track outer - finishing on down the straight to make up some ground on the field but still being amongst the tailenders. Sumability Bale was slow to jump, reached and raced midfield but no further.
Race 12	PUNTERS CUP - C5 - 457	Simply Red was the early pacemaker until Taiho Tiger, returning from injury, crossed from the outside draw to take control and continue on for a decisivie win. Summer Rock, on the rail, midfield, entering the bend was squeezed for room, moved away from the rail only to be checked badly and then fell heavily on the track. A post race veterinary examination cleared the fallen dog of injury.The favourite Some Joe raced towards the rear throughout.
