EDGAR JAY was checked starting the last bend when attempting to improve around the leader WAIWERATAI and this ruined its chance of paying a dividend. EDGAR JAY then moved back inside and checked FIELDS O'ATHENRY who went quickly back to last and stayed there. |
| Race 8 | MANAWATU CUP FINAL FEATURE - C5f - 505 | General tightening soon after the start resulted in the hot favourite HOT TREASURE settling well back towards the rear. On the first turn BIBIANA BALE moved in to the rail and checked PATTY HOLKA who went back onto TOMMO'S TWO. PATTY HOLKA and TOMMO'S TWO then moved out sharply and badly checked HOT TREASURE and TYRONE'S STAR and those four runners lost several lengths and all chance of a placing. |
