Judicial report: Weather: Beautiful warm sunny conditions. An inquiry under Rule: 255 was opened and adjourned into the late scratching of HOMEBUSH CHIMES (JT McInerney), who had been entered in Race 1 The Pedigree Advance Sprint. That inquiry was adjourned until Thursday 11 September 2003.

Race 1 PEDIGREE ADVANCE SPRINT - C2 - 295 All clear. HOMEBUSH DEEJAY (LIS Kaye) spike wounds and brusing to left hock. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 10 days up to and including 12 September 2003. HOMEBUSH CHIMES (JT McInerney) was a late scratching having been stood down at Otago GRC meeting on 4 September 2003. Infected right fore pad. Rule: 259. 5 days up to and including 8 September 2003.
Race 2 ABRAHAMS TAVERN STAKES - C2 - 520 The second favourite COMMANDO JEWEL and DR STREZLECKI drifted to the rear of the field soon after jumping from the boxes, never improving during the running. AQUA COSTI (JR Goode) right hip pain. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 10 days up to and including 12 September 2003.
Race 3 BOWL AND JACK TAVERN SPRINT - C3 - 295 Into the first corner BACK HERE MACKA struck the hindquarters of HOSTILE HONCHO, both dogs losing momentum and coming back on CYPRESS LAKES, who checked outwards forcing MOSIG wide on the track. These dogs never recovered from the incident, finishing amongst the tail enders. STEED (MJ Flipp) ligament rupture. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule 259. 14 days up to and including 17 September 2003.
Race 4 EXCELSIOR SPORTS BAR STAKES - C3/4 - 520 The favourite GATLIN BALE eased to last soon after jumping from the boxes, running on for fourth over the concluding stages. Into the first corner REDFORD BALE tangled with KID COMMANDO and fell, quickly regaining his feet and finishing the event some distance behind the field. He was checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected nothing amiss. HONEST BIRD (JT McInerney) right hind thigh laceration. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 5 days up to and including 9 September 2003.
Race 5 ISLINGTON TAVERN SPRINT - C4 - 295 Into the first corner MICHAEL DIAMOND eased as a result of general tightening, coming back on a trailing GOODTIME LAD. Into the home straight when endeavouring to improve he ran outwards taking NICHOLAS BALE wide on the track. All three dogs never recovered from these two incidents, finishing amongst the tail enders. OLD MONARO (GA Cleeve) spiked webbing to right fore. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 7 days up to and including 10 September 2003.
Race 6 ANGLERS ARMS STAKES - C3 - 520 WORLD PRIORITY and HAPPY GIGGLE came together into the first corner, losing momentum settling at the rear of the field and never improving during the running. HARE SAY (GA Cleeve) was a late scratching at kennelling when found in season. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 258. 30 days up to and including 3 October 2003.
Race 7 KOLORFUL KANVAS ROSEBOWL - C5 - 520 DR ABERNATHY, SOME JOE and DAPHNE BALE were tardy at the start, settling at the rear of the field. SOME JOE finished strongly along the rail in the home straight to win the event from POWER WITHIN, who had led for the majority of the race. The favourite EGYPTIAN GOLD settled well back, never improving during the running finishing second to last.
Race 8 TEMPS BAR STAKES - C3 - 520 WASTE BIN drifted to last soon after jumping from the boxes, never improving in the running finishing some distance behind the body of the field. He was checked by the Club Veterinarian who detected nothing amiss. TOKEN GENIUS (GA Cleeve) spiked webbing to left hind. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 7 days up to and including 10 September 2003.
Race 9 WOODEND HOTEL STAKES - C5 - 520 SNOW BIRD who drew the outside box, ran wide around the first corner into the back straight, settling well back finishing sixth. HOMEBUSH WILLY (JT McInerney) diarrhoea. Dog presented. Veterinary certificate supplied. Rule: 259. 5 days up to and including 9 September 2003.
Race 10 LITTLE BROWN JUG TAVERN SPRINT - C5 - 295 The favourite ENLIGHTENING eased as a result of being squeezed when vying for the lead into the first corner, drifting through the field coming in contact with RAPID EXPRESS and SHEEZA FREE. These dogs filled the last three places.
