Judicial report: Weather: Fine The trainer of Aranui Tui ( MN Boyd) was directed to complete a satisfactory trial in terms of Rule 179.1 after the greyhound failed to jump the final two hurdles, electing to run out for both. The trial details, when completed, are to be endorsed appropriately on the dog's registration papers. It is of note that this trainer consistently points out the lack of a further barrier extending or fencing in the hurdles in the home straight as his dog/s have consistently elected to run off at this point. The comments have substance and should be addressed by the W & D GRC.

Race 1	HAUTAPU HURDLES - C1h - 457	Hurdles race. Time Code conceded the field an advantange when slow at start. Then race was taken out by Rotary Talent who ran down the pacemaker Our Patch in the last few strides before the post. Aranui Tui failed to complete the course by running out at the last two hurdles, and will need to requalify before starting over hurdles again.
Race 2	GROUP ONE TURF BAR SPRINT - C0 - 375	Kaydee's Dilemma dipped slightly and scrambled for traction at the jump. Teddy Tyler took an early lead, took field into and down the straight until gathered in just short of the line by Go Wild Chrissy.
Race 3	BRUNTWOOD STAKES - C0 - 457	Just Hasty was the early leader until veering wide allowing Sue Van Gill to cross over from the 6 draw, jostling with both Brazil's Token and Mana Watt en route, to take up and hold a rails run which he carried strongly to the line.Jessica's Gamble put in a sustained late run for second.
Race 4	CLUB HOUSE CAFE & BAR DASH - C0 - 375	Pixar Starr stumbled on jumping from box 7, recovered to the tail of the field but soon after checked off the back of Bones Hillman - Pixar Starr went wide from that point and stayed wide and back for the journey. Bones Hillman likewise made no marked improvement after the contact. Pat's Legacy settled midfield on rail, then during rounding of bend moved forward through field to challenge and overtake Enrollment in run down track outer.
Race 5	IMPROVERS DASH - C1 - 375	The favoured Cameron Bale was slow to start then had his chances hampered when he was hemmed in on rail as field tightened, and Judgereingold and No Invitation pressured him and blocked his path.
Race 6	MATANGI STAKES - C1 - 457	Musical Drama began with purpose and went forward during the bend to take control from Prairie Fire and Androgyny to lead the field into the straight and then on to the line. No 6 Calm Abiding (P & L Henley). Rule 259 - meta tarso phalangeal joint spike. Stand down for 5 days to 01.09.03. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 7	THOMAS WOOD PHOTOGRAPHY DASH - C1 - 375	Helluva Breeze was slow to jump and raced at rear throughout. Benedict Bale and Lowen Behold came into contact at rear when field turned into the straight but not in a position where either was likely to figure in the finish.Ginger Tyler stepped clear early and held well to the line. No 1 High Pockets (KE Lomas). Rule 259 - abraisons and lacerations and post race left hind muscle soreness. Stand down 5 days to 01.09.03. Dog presented. VC held. No 3 Oh So Lyrical (BL Hood). Rule 259 - injured left hind leg. Stand down 10 days to 05.09.03. VC held.
Race 8	TE RAPA TAVERN STAKES - C1 - 457	Favourite Shiraz Royale settled midfield in run to straight entrance then sought to move along rail, gaining some ground but failing to make any impression on the placegetters in final call. No 5 Rikkilee Kiwi ( JM Lowen). Under stand down from AGRC meeting.
Race 9	NEWSTEAD SPRINT - C1 - 375	Race clear.
Race 10	WWW.DOGTIPS.CO.NZ STAKES - C2 - 457	Just The Don was slow at start, conceding the field an advantage - then when recovering back of field did nothing further from there. Trendy Rhode ran determinely down straight to take lead just short of post from pacemaker Keen Precision. Hostile Twist showed purpose with a late run for third.
Race 11	HILLCREST TAVERN DASH - C2 - 375	Stock Broker was shuffled backwards when field tightened at first bend, with Luminoso holding at finish.
Race 12	JONELLE ALLEN AT STUD STAKES - C2/3 - 457	Seven starters. Keen Reward was slow and remained at rear throughout. Cawbourne Jack was positioned handy with leaders then was checked back, with off legs splaying out sideways - recovered momentum quickly but did not feature in finish. Dot Matrix held an early lead and did not reliquish it in run to line. No 2 Wyuna Red Leg (D Van Meeuwen). Rule 259 - injured back right pad. Stand down 10 days to 06.09.03. VC held. No 5 Gold Jed ( D Van Meeuwen). Rule 259- injured left hind pad. Stand down 10 days to 06.09.03. VC held. No 7 Kemsley Park (D Van Meeuwen). Rule 259 - injured left hamstring. Stand down 10 days to 06.09.03. VC held.
Race 13	DINSDALE TAVERN DASH - C3/4 - 375	Allegro Comet and Onslow Bale ran with shoulder to shoulder contact for several strides after the jump, keenly disputing the lead - then into the straight Allegro Comet burst away and held for the win.Campbell Bale scrambled on leaving the boxes, settled and was then squeezed in centre of bunching dogs before forging through field to be second on the outer entering the straight, and with a sustained run held that position at the line.
Race 14	PAPAMOA TAVERN STAKES - C4/5 - 457	Simply Red flashed across to the track inner after the jump from the outside draw, and then maintained a sustained run to the finish at the front of the field.The favourite Some Joe after starting from box 7 stayed wide after the jump then sought to move around the field from the back whilst negotiating the bend - being in contact with Winsome Guy, on his inner, during this forward move. Some Joe came to the end of his run in the straight and ended up finishing behind the placegetters. No 2 Aston Marshal (DD Schofield). Rule 259 - infected right front foot. Stand down 8 days to 04.09.03. VC held.
