Race 1 | WELCOME SPRINT - C0 - 305 | PUBLIC NEWS was slow away from the traps and tailed the field throughout. BRAVE GYPSY moved out on the first corner and cannoned into ARANUI SUNRISE and BOLD RAY who were both checked. |
Race 2 | DAYLIGHT DASH - C0 - 305 | GOTTA BOLD BOY stood in the boxes and lost several lengths. He then put in a huge effort to get up for third placing. SORT OF BLUE moved in on the first corner and checked CENT MOTOR INN who dropped back towards the rear. Soon after, SORT OF BLUE clipped the heels of BUSTER KEATON and also dropped back a few places. |
Race 3 | WANGANUI SECURITY SERVICES SPRINT - C0 - 305 | CLASSY CULLEN was very slow away and was never a chance of a placing after that. HUKA JAZZ and WATERLEA LASS both ran very wide on the bend and covered extra ground. MISS KERBY galloped onto the heels of MANYANA on the hometurn and they both ran wide into the straight. |
Race 4 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS '305' - C1 - 305 | The favourite GOOD CHARLOTTE bounced out best and led into the first corner but appeared uncomfortable galloping around the bend and dropped back to second. Race 6 | ELITE CATERING SPRINT - C1 - 305 | SATARA ran onto the heels of LADY PETITE on the bend, checked and moved out causing interferance to DESTROYER DOTTIE and they both lost any chance of a placing. Race 7 | ASR SPRAYPAINTING STAKES - C1 - 520 | FAN FANCY CAPP moved out on the first bend and bumped FINE PROFIT onto CODE BREAKING who was pushed wide and off stride. TRUTHFUL LIES raced wide throughout and tailed the field home by several lengths. The vets inspection revealed that the dog had suffered from a spike wound and a five day spell was ordered. Race 8 | METEOR OFFICE PRODUCTS DASH - C1 - 305 | EMOYENI and HOMEBUSH SPEEDY jostled together and became off balance for several strides in the back straight. |
Race 9 | CLASSIC HITS - RIVER CITY FM SPRINT - C1 - 305 | OSKAR HALL and BLUE COUNTY were both checked in general tightening in the race to the first corner and they went from a handy position, back to the rear and took MINNIE LASS and OUTER HERE with them. |
Race 10 | DISPLAY ASSOCIATES '520' - C1 - 520 | CAPITAL SHAKER moved in and COSMOS moved out soon after the start and this resulted in jostling to those runners as well as FOLLOW THE FAITH, ROWLEY'S EDITION and GAZZA'S BEAUTY. LIKA CRUISE ran out on the first corner and caused severe checks to COSMOS, GAZZA'S BEAUTY, CAPITAL SHAKER and SHAWNEE BRAVE and this ruined there chances although SHAWNEE BRAVE recovered to run on very well for third place. |
Race 11 | HOUSE OF TRAVEL STAKES - C1 - 520 | MAN FROM UNCLE was scratched due to a torn ligament. MEGA SAKI was a late scratching due to being underweight and the Trainer was fined $ 100- 00 under Rule 269 (3). SHAY LAMOUR moved in on the first corner and this resulted in checks to WINSOME SHINE and LISSADELL MAC who almost fell. They lost all chance and filled the last three placings. MAN FROM UNCLE.
