Judicial report: Weather: Fine Dogs trained by B.T.Freeman, K.J.Cassidy and B.R.Healey were travelling in a van together which skidded on ice and flipped over on its side causing extensive damage. No injuries were sustained in the accident apart from minor cuts and brusises. Mr Freeman contacted the club and advised of the accident (both Mr Freeman and Mr Healey were in the vehicle) and given the circumstances the dogs could not be presented to race. The Judicial Steward accepted the explanation and given the extraordinary circumstances the dogs were withdrawn without penalty.

Race 2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO STAKES - C0 - 457 Favourite Baghdad Token (8) took the lead on the bend and bolted in by 7 and half lengths from Top Current (1) which got up for second by a neck from Neavis Alone (4) which led to the turn. Jump Start (3) was very slow to trap and tailed off last.
Race 3 AWESOME HAVOC AT STUD - C1 - 390 Favourite Lady shackles 91) led all the way and won comfortably by 3 lengths from Palaquin Miss 92) which chased the leader throughout.
Race 4 MRS HILLS BIRTHDAY BASH - C1/2 - 390 Homebush Deejay (5) led all the way to win from Ozzy John (2) which chellenged throughout, and the win favourite Sugar Sweet (8) ran on for third after a slow start. Homebush Chimes (4) missed the jump by several lengths and finished a distant last. Young Tezza (B.R.Healey), Rule 257 not presented. No penalty (see below)
Race 5 SOUTH DUNEDIN FURNITURE & BEDDING - C1 - 457 Favourite Monkey Love (1) flew the traps and bolted in by 4 and quarter lengths from Xavier's Star (2) which was slow early and came home strongly in the straight.
