| Race 1 | BELLBIRD ARMS MAIDEN SPRINT HT 1 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 | Seven starters. Muslie Man was slow to start and settled at back with Linnyman. Astronomical was checked in the early running when in shoulder to shoulder contact with Kiwi Fire, then again when in contact with Linnyman when that dog started to move forward. Astronomical skewed sideways and reared up before drifting to back and finishing at back of field at the line. A post race veterinary examination found that Astronomical had been injured during the running of the race. No 2 Astronomical ( B & L Craik). Rule 329. Right hind muscle tear. Stand down 10 days to 28.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 2 | BELLBIRD ARMS MAIDEN SPRINT HT 2 - C0q - 318 Heat 1 | Seven starters. Mana Watt lost all chance from the inside box when he went up in the air as the lids went up. Although regaining the field Mana Watt did not feature any further. |
| Race 3 | SUDSARELLA LAUNDRY STAKES - C0 - 527 | Seven starters. Token Sniper moved across after the jump and was in contact with Ollymacron, drawn alongside. Token Sniper stumbled and scrambled for his footing but could not improve his position and raced at the rear throughout. |

| Race 5 | BELLBIRD ARMS DASH - C1 - 318 | Lucy Loose raced at the back of the field in the early running, then dipped when checked by Cardinia Kev when that dog crossed and shouldered into her front - Lucy Loose drifted to back and made no real improvement from there. No 1 Toledo Steel (NP Green). Rule 259. Tendon injury. Stand down 30 days to 13.09.03. No 7 Bally Angel (D Annette). Rule 259. Diarrhoea and conjuctivitis. Stand down 7 days to 24.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 6 | RADIO PACIFIC STAKES HT 1 - C1q - 527 Heat 1 | Flash Shooter settled behind Bowing Flyer on the rail after the jump until Kaiser Izmir crossed from an outside draw and collided strongly with him - Kaiser Izmir rebounding back out and Flash Shooter being shunted towards the rail where he impacted with Cruising Dancer. On straightening, Flash Shooter quickly gained momentum, moved through the field and pursued the pace maker BigBad Ben into the straight, making late inroads into the leader's margin, but having to settle for second at the line. |
| Race 7 | THE MAD BUTCHER DASH - C1 - 318 | The favouite No Invitation raced close to the rail from the inside draw after the jump, with Lika Cruise adjacent in the running. Entering the bend the field converged on the rail and No Invitation was squeezed for room - in seeking to move away from the rail No Invitation pushed out and went straight into the path of and under the front legs of Norse Star, No Invitation falling heavily and tumbling over and over along the track. No Invitation clambered to his feet and did finish the race. The post race veterinary examination of the dogs, whilst clearing No Invitation, revealed that Norse Star had sustained an injury during the race. No 2 Norse Star ( RA McPhee). Rule 329. Lacerations to front left foot. Stand down 7 days to 25.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 8 | CATERING PROFESSIONALS DASH - C2/3 - 318 | Six starters. Bold Playboy settled at the back after the jump, then in early stages of running dipped and went off stride momenarily and from that point raced at the back. |
| Race 9 | RADIO PACIFIC STAKES HT 2 - C1q - 527 Heat 1 | The field bunched and tightened during the first bend, with Kedo's Avery one of the early leaders being able to step clear of the jostling and put a break on the field - until being run down entering the final straight. The runner-up, Sunset Coast, when making a forward move from the field's initial bunching, had moved out from the inside of the track and been in contact with Minimoo and Dorthy Bale on his way, impacting on their chances to feature further. Sunset Coast was treated for an injury post race by the veterinary surgeon. No 6 Sunset Coast ( K Walsh). Rule 329. Spike wound to left hind, suture required to right forearm.Stand down 10 days to 28.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 10 | NOTHERN DIGITAL PHOTOFINISH DASH - C4/5 - 318 | Six starters. My Toby surged away from the jump and held strongly to the line. Gold Amore and Never Time ran shoulder to shoulder from the jump and when entering the bend those two dogs squeezed Macain up against the rail - Macain dropping back when his path was blocked and not making any improvement from that point. |
| Race 11 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C2 - 318 | Seven starters. Evander Phoenix was slow to jump, then when he had recovered the field came into shoulder contact with Mahogany Journey - Mahogany Journey then dropped off pace and finished back. No 6 Hot Discovery ( B Hughes). Rule 259. Injured quicks on several toes.Stand down 4 days to 19.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 12 | RADIO PACIFIC STAKES HT 3 - C1q - 527 Heat 1 | Seven starters. Musical Drama put an early break on the field and carried it to the line. Splicklez started on even terms with the field and was moving closer to the rail as Shiraz Royale moved out - a sharp shoulder contact between the two dogs resulted in Splicklez scrambling for his footing and to regain momentum whilst Shiraz Royale went on to taken second place at the line. No 2 Ciame Go ( S Blackburn). Rule 259. Ruptured flexor tendon. Stand down 14 days to 30.08.03. Dog presented. VC held. |
| Race 13 | CAROL'S TAB MANUREWA STAKES - C2/3 - 527 | Galatasaray crossed quickly from the outside draw to take the lead and did not relinquish it from there.There was significant jostling at the first bend with Joebee's Gem, Ewan Jake and Oxey being particularly disadvantaged. Ewan Jake flared out wide and Joebee's Gem was squeezed for room and dropped towards the rear of the field, not improving from there. No 4 Winsome Rocket ( B & L Craik). Rule 259. Suspected monkey muscle tear. Stand down 10 days to 27.08.03. Dog presented. VC held. |
