Judicial report: Weather: Fine The papers for Mr Luke ( MJ Lozell) were endorsed in terms of Rule 322.3, in that an injury exempted action for fighting during a race,(under Rule 322.1.(a), as this was the first occurrence of such conduct. Nothwithstanding a stand down under Rule 329, for being injured during the running of a race, Mr Luke will be required to complete a satisfactory trial in terms of rule 179, and his papers endorsed when such trial has been completed.

Race 1 CARRISBROOK CAPER - C1 - 375 Seven starters. Turbo Melody moved out from box 2 after the jump and after coming into shoulder contact with Cardinia Kev dropped right back and tailed field home.
Race 2 SPRINGBOK STAKES - C1 - 457 Masonry was slow to start then after ranging and running wide finished towards back. The favourite, Mean Tyler started on terms with the rest of the field, raced midfield, was briefly blocked for a run when moving out and went on to finish strongly down the straight for a close fourth.
Race 3 MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 375 Bella Vichy powered down the straight to take a close finish from Miss Rummo. Teddy Tyler was slow to start, regained back of field then ranged wide sharply at the bend, guiding Sister Stamp out as well. Neither dog placed at the finish.Mana Watt was checked from behind by Token Sniper when moving out from box 1 to the middle of the track in the early stages.
Race 4 TRI NATION STAKES - C2 - 457 Hostile Twist was checked during the running, coming off the back of Top Allegro - Top Allegro had raced handy to the lead in the early stages, then coming out of the bend into the straight put a break on the field and held to the line. The field had bunched and some jostling occurred when the winner sped away in the straight, with Spade Time and Hostile Twist coming together and being disadvantaged. No 4 Philip Bale (GN Pomeroy). Rule 329, injury to metacarpo-phalangeal joint. Stand down 6 days to 13.08.03. VC held.
Race 5 IMPROVERS SPRINT - C1 - 375 Seven starters. The favourite, Mr Luke appeared to turn and strike at Panama Cobra during the run down the straight. A veterinary examination post race revealed an injury, this exempting Mr Luke from being the subject of further action under the rules.
Race 6 DUNEDIN DASH - C2/3 - 375 Seven starters. Zabenz collapsed at the rear of the field in the early running, was found to have been severely injured and was euthanised post race.
Race 7 TRACKSIDE STAKES - C3 - 457 Five starters with late scratching of Ferris Bale. Winsome Rocket and Breaking Waves were in shoulder to shoulder contact at the bend into the straight when Winsome Rocket came off the rail and eased Breaking Waves wide. Mavriki Glider, meantime, had slipped away from the field and held to the line. No 3 Big Teddy Boy (DD Schofield). W & D GRC scratching. LATE SCRATCHING No 4 Ferris Bale (RS Parker). Rule 259 - swollen left front wrist -probable spider bite. Stand down 4 days to 11.08.03. Dog presented. VC held.
Race 8 RACEWAY SPRINT - C4/5 - 375 Race clear. No 5 Stanton Bale ( GN Pomeroy). Rule 259. Stand down 10 days to 16.08.03. VC held.
Race 9 DINSDALE DISTANCE - C1/2d - 630 Start delayed two minutes at TAB request. Race clear.
Race 10 GO THE ALL BLACKS - C4/5 - 457 Bullman Bale drew away from the field early and held margin well.
