| Race 1 | WELCOME DASH - C0 - 305 | GAZZA'S DELIGHT galloped onto the back of MISS KERBY on the bend and both were severely checked and dropped back quickly. GAZZA'S DELIGHT collided with LISADELL ROSE and BALLYSHANNON as she dropped back and pushed those runners wide. Soon after, KOTUKU ARANUI was unable to avoid BOLD RAY, ran into the back of that dog and then moved out quickly, colliding with GAZZA'S DELIGHT and BALLYSHANNON. LISSADELL ROSE fought with BALLYSHANNON in the back straight and after viewing a video of the incident, the Trainer elected to admit a breach of Rule 322 (1) (a) had occurred and LISADELL ROSE was stood down for 30 days under Rule 322 (2) (a) and will be required to Trial under Rule 241 before the next Totalisator start. | Race 2 | OREGON STAKES - C0 - 520 | EYES A COOKIE was scratched and will stand down for thirty days due to a muscle injury in a back leg. GAZZA'S BEAUTY had to check and go around WAITOTARA DEVIL on the home turn and once into the clear, she finished well to win narrowly. EYES A COOKIE. Trainer J&M. McCook. | Race 3 | TOTARA BEGINNERS SPRINT - C0 - 305 | ACTION PARKER ran in sharply while CALM FLOW ran out soon after the start and this resulted in ARANUI JAZZ, HUKA JAZZ and BOLD GYPSY being tightened and checked back. Racing into the first corner ACTION PARKER again ran in and checked HUKA JAZZ and BOLD GYPSY who dropped back to the rear. Those dogs filled the last three places. |
| Race 4 | RIMU BEGINNERS STAKES - C0 - 520 | One of the favourites MONTOYA FOG was tightened and checked in the race to the first corner and never recovered. |
| Race 5 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS SPRINT - C0 - 305 | ROYAL DASH and WISH MASTER were slow to begin and were never a chance of a placing after that. LEWISTON checked off the heels of HILLVIEW RIDGE on the first corner, moved out and pushed ROYAL DASH wide on the bend. |
| Race 6 | ACACIA SPRINT - C1 - 305 | UNO WHO KNOWS was slow to begin and could not make up the lost ground. PIC A PAC and SECRET PRINCE who drew the inside boxes, were squeezed back to the rear as the other runners moved across towards the rail in the run to the first corner. They never recovered and finished well back. |

| Race 8 | ROSEWOOD STAKES - C1 - 520 | One of the favourites MISS CHANTELLE was slow to begin, was forced to race wide after drawing box eight and never showed up at all. The favourite FINE PROFIT galloped onto the heels of SHAY LAMOUR on the final bend but recovered well to run on and win the race. SHAY LAMOUR faltered, went off stride and lost ground but then recovered to run home strongly for third placing. |
| Race 9 | TAWA STAKES - C1 - 520 | BENBULBEN LAD ran in on the first corner and tightened SHAVE THE SHEEP and SHAWNEE BRAVE and the three dogs jostled together for several strides and settled at the rear. They never improved and filled the last three places. |
| Race 10 | HEADS ROAD VETERINARY STAKES - C2 - 520 | ROWLEY'S EDITION was slow away and settled near the rear. He made little progress on the other runners and beat only one home. ROCK CHAPEL who was racing in last place, faltered at the end of the back straight and pulled up soon after. ROCK CHAPEL suffered from a serious hock injury and was humanely put down by the clubs Veterinarian. ROCK CHAPEL. Trainers B&E Gough. Rule 329. Broken hock during race. Humanely put down. |
| Race 11 | DOUBLE 'S' MOTORDROME DASH - C2 - 305 | SUMMER SWEET was tightened and checked back to last as the field packed up going into the first corner. She never recovered and tailed the field home. ASTRO'S DIAMOND suffered a spike wound during the race and this was stitched by the vet and she will spell for seven days. ASTRO'S DIAMOND. Trainer l.Fornasiere. Rule 329. Suffered a spike wound. Stood down for seven days to 14.08.03 |
| Race 12 | FAREWELL SPRINT - C3 - 305 | STYLISH SUSIE was scratched Ex Manawatu on 06.08.03. GO MOJO was slow away but made ground well for a close fourth placing. MOBILE MANIA and CARA MIO were checked when the field tightened on the first corner and they dropped quickly back to the rear and stayed there. MOBILE MANIA was carried back to the kennels after the race as she was suffering from cramp. She recovered quickly and no stand down was required. STYLISH SUSIE. Trainer B.Cole.
