ARANUI TUI never recovered and finished in last place while VAL'S BABE made ground well to finish second. SONG OF INDIA was checked entering the back straight and lost several lengths. She then recovered well to run on for third place. |

| Race 3 | OXFORD HOTEL - C1 - 505 | MELITA'S HAVOC, WHEELCHAIR ROSE and UPAHUT AXION collided on the first turn and WHEELCHAIR ROSE and UPAHUT AXION ran very wide on the bend. UPAHUT AXION recovered well to rush home for a close second while the other two never recovered and tailed the field home. |
| Race 4 | ALBION HOTEL SHANNON - C1 - 505 | GOLDEN KART ran into the hind quarters of OH SO LYRICAL when entering the final bend, dropped back quickly and severely checked OH SO BLUE and HOMEBUSH NED. All four dogs lost several lengths and any chance of a placing. GOLDEN KART recieved slight toe injuries and will stand down for seven days. GOLDEN KART. Trainer P.Blanche. Rule 329 Toe injury. | Race 5 | GERRANDS GEMTIME JEWELLERS HAWERA - C3 - 505 | WON'T BE DENIED, MEGA SAKI and BLIND AS were slow to begin and settled well back. One of the favourites DARCY'S DRAWER was held up and lost momentum, firstly behind MILLENIUM MAGIC as they entered the back straight and again on the last bend when he was unable to get around EDGAR JAY who was just ahead. DARCY'S DRAWER dropped out from there and finished well back. |
| Race 6 | BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C2 - 297 | SAI PHAR ran across the heels of LOWER THE BOOM nearing the home straight, ran out and collided with BRONZE BEAUTY who was pushed wide. REBEL IZMIR was scratched due to a wound on the left hind thigh and he will stand down for ten days. WHIPPER SNAPPER ran out and forced UPAHUT ROSE and GOLDEN THORPEDO wide on the first turn. OVAL OFFICE also received some interferance in the incident and was pushed wide on the bend. WHIPPER SNAPPER and OVAL OFFICE never recovered and finished well back. GOZO LINA. | Race 8 | SANTA LUCIA MEMORIAL FINAL - C1 - 505 | The hot favourite TIGHNABRUICH bounced out first, was never headed and won with ease. The rest had every chance and no exscuses. |
| Race 9 | FOTODOG FOTOS - WGTN - C4/5 - 505 | One of the favourites MISTEGIC was slow away and settled well back. The favourite IRATE SHIRAZ was away well but was tightened in the run to the first corner and dropped quickly back to last. She never recovered and beat one home. |
| Race 10 | WANGANUI CAR CENTRE - C3/4 - 297 | STYLISH SUSIE was scratched due to an abrasion and soreness to a foreleg, was presented and stood down for seven days. KNOCKABOUT NELLY was scratched due to a shoulder muscle injury and will spell for ten days. GO MOJO was the slowest away, was blocked for a run on the first corner and then flashed home late for fourth place. SOME CANDY collided with the hindquarters of JESSICA'S ECHO on the first corner and ran very wide losing ground. STYLISH SUSIE. Trainer B.Cole. Abrasion and swelling to foreleg.
