Waitak Attack was the early leader until Mistress Honcho moved along inner and held off a late run from No Invitation to take the win.Smokin' Time was last after the jump but quickly improved along inner to midfield - then, whilst mid-bend Smokin' Times switched sharply to the outer, across the back of Waitak Attack and into contact with Faithful Bart - Faithful Bart was forced out wider into the path of Winsome Dough with that dog then straddling the back of Faithful Bart and almost falling. The chances of Winsome Dough and Faithful Bart were dashed at that point, and both dogs went wide and finished back. Stepping clear of the jostling he had left in his wake, Smokin' Time went on to record a sound third. |
| Race 2 | MEADOWSET GRAPHICS DASH - C0 - 318 | Night Eclipse and Supreme Jester stepped away from the jump on even terms until Night Eclipse surged ahead and held momentum all the way. Supreme Jester drifted from the early position and was found to have been injured in the post race vet examination. Linnymay, the reserve from box 9, ranged wide at the straight entrance - coming sharply off the rail, and impeded the chances of Mana Watt and Supreme Jester, although those dogs were well back at that time. No 3 Jaydee's Blue ( A Cleaver). Rule 259, swelling of left candal metatarsal.. Stand down for 7 days to 06.08.03. Dog presented. VC held. No 7 Supreme Jester ( Reed/Thomson). Rule 329. Shoulder and wrist injury. Stand down 10 days to 09.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 3 | THE MAD BUTCHER STAKES - C1 - 527 | Just The Don took an early lead - ran away from the field travelling down the back straight and still held a margin in excess of 5 lenghts at the line. |
| Race 4 | PUKEKOHE HOTEL DASH - C1 - 318 | Seven starters. Gentle Jade put an early break on field and withstood a strong late run along the inner from My Journey to reach the line first. |
| Race 5 | CATERING PROFESSIONALS DASH - C2 - 318 | Hot Discovery, from the inside draw, splayed his legs out on landing from the jump and conceded the field several lengths. Brooklyn Ash took control during middle stages from Bally Angel and held strongly at the line. |
| Race 6 | THOROUGHBRED TAVERN STAKES - C2 - 527 | Melina Bale crossed quickly to the front from the outside draw and was not headed from there. |

| Race 8 | EGH INTERNET GREYHOUNDS SPRINT FEATURE - C5 - 318 | Seven starters.My Toby dwelt slightly at the start but then without covering any extra ground moved along track inner to take the lead entering the straight - not relinquishing it from there. Never Time moved out after the jump and impacted with Gold Amore and then Waikika Havoc - Never Time was skewed sideways somewhat and quickly regained his momentum, but to no avail. |
| Race 9 | RADIO PACIFIC STAKES - C3 - 527 | Seven starters. Graeshar's Boy was on equal terms in front in early stages then dropped off pace and tailed home a very distant last. A post race vet examination revealed that indeed Graeshar's Boy had been injured during the running.My Minkie trooped the field down the back straight until the entrance into the final straight where Busting Out, who had been trailing handy to lead, surged strongly and with a sustained run held to the line. Waitak Central, also prominent in latter stages, moved out at the bottom of the straight, nudged the tiring My Minkie, and went on for second placing. No 3 Stylish Zoe ( M Earley). Rule 259. Swelling and heat, left front metacarpal.Stand down 5 days to 03.08.03. Dog presented. VC held. No 7 Keen Reward ( R P O'Regan). Rule 259.Web laceration.Stand down 12 days to 10.08.03. Dog presented. VC held. No 4 Graeshar's Boy ( G Calverley). Rule 329. Injury to calf. Stand down 14 days to 13.08.03. VC held. |
| Race 10 | HEADIN' HOME BAR & GRILL STAKES - C4/5 - 527 | The was a general tightening of the greyhounds after the jump from which Taiho Tiger, out of box 8, stayed well clear, having settled back on inner. As the field raced down the back straight, led by Argus Led, Taiho Tiger began a forward move which saw him weave through the field to take control at the final bend exit segment before unleashing a final powerful surge to win and win well. |
