Race 1	CLASSIC ROOFING STAKES - C0 - 525	CLAIRE EYES was scratched and started in race two a Maiden Final. HOMEBUSH FIN and INDICATIVE were slow to begin but recovered well for first and fourth placings respectively. HOMEBUSH EDWARD and HOMEBUSH KERRY both turned in the boxes and as a result, lost any chance of a placing. They both box trialed immediately after the race with HOMEBUSH EDWARD being successful and HOMEBUSH KERRY turning again and he will have to complete another box trial under Rule 242 before next starting at a totalisator meeting. CLAIRE EYES. Trainer W.Morris. Started in race two a Maiden Final.
Race 2	MAIDEN STAKES FINAL - C0 - 525	CLYDEBANK was scratched due to a shoulder injury. REBEL EDITION was scratched under the distance from track rule. PROSPIRENE and QUIET SPIRIT were tightened for a few strides as BANKSIDE RAT moved ahead and came in towards the rail on the first corner. JENNY D'OR suffered a toe nail injury during the race and will spell for ten days. CLYDEBANK. Trainer O.Marron. Scratched due to shoulder injury. Ten day stand down to 09.08.03. REBEL EDITION. Trainer B.Atwood. Scratched under the distance from track rule. Rule 254. JENNY D'OR Trainer M.Goodwin. Rule 329 Toe nail injury. Ten days stand down to 09.08.03.
Race 3	BRYCE FRANCIS GRAPHICS - C1 - 295	BARTHEZ was scratched Ex Manawatu on 29.07.03. Race all clear. BARTHEZ. Trainer M.McDonnell. Scratched Ex Manawatu on 29.07.03.
Race 4	MAIDEN DASH - C0 - 295	SORT OF BLUE was scratched Ex manawatu on 29.07.03 SIGNORELLI was slow to begin and tailed the field throughout to finish in last place. HOMEBUSH JET moved out on the bend and collided with WINSOME HA HA .Soon after, TOP CURRENT moved out from behind WINSOME HA HA and made contact with HOMEBUSH MARY and they both ran wide and covered extra ground. SORT OF BLUE. Trainer B.Hood. Scratched Ex manawatu on 29.07.03.
Race 5	HARDY TRADE SUPPLY - C1 - 525	SATIN GRIP was a late scratching without penalty after the dog gained access and ate some confectionary in the Trainers vehicle while he kenneled another dog. After inspecting the vehicle, the Stipendiary Steward was of the opinion that the scratching was for a valid reason. KIWI COMMAND was slow to begin, settled in last place and stayed there. XAVIER'S STAR and TIGHNABRUICH collided soon after the start and settled back. TIGHNABRUICH then made ground well to race home and win. SATIN GRIP. trainer J.Allen. Scratched under Rule 257 (1) with a valid reason. No penalty imposed.
Race 6	TXT4TIPS (M10 R? 8477) DASH - C2 - 295	DICTATION galloped onto the back of ARDENT FEVER on the bend and severely checked that runner. ARDENT FEVER dropped right out to finish several lengths last.
Race 7	EMPIRE HOTEL - PETONE SPRINT - C4/5 - 295	KNOCKABOUT NELLY stepped over the heels of JESSICA'S ECHO on the bend, moved out and collided with TREZEGUET.
Race 8	IMPROVERS DASH FINAL - C1 - 295	HURRICANE FOG was checked on the first bend and dropped back quickly onto JODAMAN who was severely checked and fell but was not injured. HURRICANE FOG lost several lengths and all chance and was also vetted and cleared of injury.
Race 9	SIX PACK STAKES - C3/4 - 525	WINSOME RAIDER was slow to begin and ran wide on the bends but ran on well for third. The favourite KURI TERE was hindered when unable to get around MILLENNIUM MAGIC for some distance in the early part of the race. KURI TERE only battled when into clear racing room.
